In the teaching of Mandarin in New Zealand,team-teaching between Mandarin teachers and foreign teachers is a very common teaching mode. However, due to the different teaching concept and human resources of each school, the way of cooperation between Mandarin teachers and foreign teachers are also different. Each of these cooperation methods has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. Thus, the effect of each kind of method is not exactly the same. This paper focuses on the working process and common typical problems of team-teaching,and selects the typical cases of the author as a volunteer teacher to cooperate with the local teacher in New Zealand primary school in Mandarin-teaching from three aspects: before class, during class and after class. The topics are: “How do volunteer Mandarin teachers communicate with foreign teachers and participate in the design of lesson plans?”,“Correcting or preventing mistakes”,“How can volunteer Mandarin teachers who teach in English in class get language and cultural support from foreign teachers in a timely manner”,“How can Mandarin and foreign teachers cooperate and complement each other to mobilize students' learning motivation” and“How do volunteer Mandarin teachers and foreign teachers communicate and improve their lessons after class.” This paper used classroom observation methods, interviews, theoretical analysis and other research methods to analyze the representative problems of team-teaching models in the three schools and propose corresponding solutions, and puts forward teaching suggestions from the perspective of the choice of teaching models and teachers, namely master basic Chinese knowledge and teaching skills, learn from each other's strengths and complement those strengths,be familiar with cultural differences and make good comparisons, make feedback and make progress together, establishing rules and regulations to promote the institutionalization of the basic contents of division of labor and cooperation.Through the analysis of various cooperative teaching modes, the author believes that the mode of team teaching led by foreign teachers and assisted by volunteer Mandarin teachers is the most ideal.Team-teaching models are very common in Mandarin teaching in New Zealand, but research on this topic is rare. The innovation of this paper lies in: the problems involved in the case need to be solved urgently in the actual teaching, which not only makes up for the gaps in the research, but also has certain practical significance;in view of the difficult problems to be solved at present, the paper puts forward practical remedies, reflects on teacher training, and puts forward suggestions for the training of Hanban volunteer teachers and local New Zealand teachers,so as to make case analysis bigger. The significance and value of case analysis are improved;case analysis is combined with reflection and suggestions, and reflection and suggestions involve many aspects, which are not only drawn from the case analysis in this paper, but also overcome the limitations of case analysis, and improve the level of case analysis. It is hoped that this article can help Mandarin teachers in New Zealand to choose a reasonable team-teaching model for team-teaching according to their actual situations, and promote the development of team-teaching in New Zealand.
