As the only Confucius classroom at primary level in Wellington Region,the mandarin teaching in Te Aro School outstands itself among all the other primary schools that offer mandarin course.During its nearly 10-year-development,Te Aro School accumaled a considerable deal of experience in mandarin teaching.The basic idea of this study was under the guidance of pedagogical theories and methods of teaching investigation,using the method of literature analysis,questionnaire and interview,this paper also examines the accumulated experience of the Confucius classroom since the beginning of Mandarin teaching from the point view of teaching mode,the situation of the learners and the teaching situation of the teachers.Since it is the only Confucius classroom at primary level in Wellington.The characteristics of the Mandarin teaching in this school and the experience worthy of promotion are expected to provide more reference for the development of Mandarin teaching in similar Confucius classroom at primary level and even in New Zealand primary school,and promote the development of Mandarin teaching.The full text will be carried out in the following aspects:The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the origin,background and significance of the research,it explains the research ideas and methods used in this paper,mainly by the questionnaire survey method as well as the depth interview method in the design and implementation of the situation.The second chapter summarises the research,which includes a summary of the research in New Zealand and the description of the teaching of Chinese children and primary schools in New Zealand.The third chapter is the focus of this study.Through the field investigation and investigation of the Confucius class in Te Aro primary school,and according to the results of the investigation,the author analyses the situation of the Chinese teaching in the Confucius classroom of Te Aro primary school,and discusses the Te Aro primary school Confucius classroom from the aspects of the learning situation of the learners,the mode of Chinese teaching,the evaluation system and so on.The characteristics and lessons of classroom teaching in Chinese are worth learning from.The fourth chapter is to think about the problems and deficiencies in the current situation of Te Aro primary school Chinese teaching in Confucius classroom,and put forward corresponding suggestions.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the whole research and pointing out the shortcomings of this study.
