With the rapid development of social media,almost everyone can obtain information,exchange feelings and express opinions by it.The Internet social media constantly penetrate into all aspects of our lives,and various public affairs are widely discussed by people through social media.Social media not only become a channel for people to obtain information of public affairs,but also give people the right of expressing and participating.In this context,the feminist movement has gained lots of attention relying on social media,improving the public awareness of feminism and its movement.However,in real life,the public's understanding of feminism and its movement is uneven,and the participation behavior varies from person to person.In the similar educational background,there are still individual differences in their information acquisition skills and other skills when using social media.That is to say,there are individual differences in people's social media literacy,which may affect people's cognition and participation of the feminist movement.This paper focuses on the influence of social media literacy on college students' cognition and participation of the feminist movement,and mainly uses the quantitative research and questionnaires to get the relevant data.The results show that there are great differences in social media literacy,the cognition and participation of feminist movement among college students of different majors,degrees and growing regions.The higher the social media literacy of college students,the higher the degree of cognition and participation of the feminist movement;there is a positive correlation between the acquisition and evaluation skills in the social media literacy and the cognition of feminist movement,and also between the output skills and the participation of the feminist movement.This study can be a supplement to the current media literacy research,showing social media literacy may impact individual's cognition and participation of the feminist movement,and may affect one's cognition and behavior.Therefore,the society should pay more attention to the implementation of media literacy education to improve awareness of public's media literacy of college students,and to encourage them to participate in public issues.
