With the development of our society,the continuous advances of the information process indicates that the traditional teaching methods have already been proved to be out of style according to the new curriculum reform.Therefore,teachers must combine teaching with information technology during their physics teaching processes to extend teaching methods,as well as to improve teaching effects and teaching qualities.At the same time,teachers are also required to cultivate the ability for students to use software for independent learning and problem solving.Therefore,the most urgent problem existed among our physics teachers is how to integrate the information technology into physics education so that it can be one of powerful tools to assist our teaching.Among many options,we notice that GeoGebra software carries on a lot of novel characteristics,such as simple operation,open source,accurate calculation,data-based graphic display,and dynamic interaction.Therefore,GeoGebra has attracted extensive attentions in the community of scientific scholars and front-line teachers,thereby being one of the most suitable solutions for assisting physics teaching.By reviewing the existed literatures,we analyze the current status of the GeoGebra software in the physics teaching.By combining the information technology to physics discipline,we describe the difficulties during the learning processes among contemporary students in middle schools.We also demonstrate the theoretical basis of the GeoGebra software to reveal its superior roles in high school physics teaching.In addition,based on the actual teaching experiences in high school,we demonstrate the application scenarios of the GeoGebra software,such as vector diagrams,kinetic mechanics,experimental data analysis,and visualization of electric field line,magnetic induction line,as well as equipotential plane.Finally,by employing the GeoGebra platform,we design two practical teaching cases:the force resultant and decomposition,as well as the movement of charged particles in the magnetic field.We also organize actual exercise activities for students to grasp the operation skills of the GeoGebra software.As conclusion,we summarize the advantages and feasibility of the GeoGebra-based high school physics teaching that could be a standard reference for the other users.
