American scholars have proved that Self-regulated Learning Ability(SLRA)can greatly affect students' academic performance.However,there are few researches on quantitative analysis about the relationship between SLRA and students' achievements in high school in China.By investigating 516 students in eight classes of a high school in Jiangxi province,current study attempts to explore three questions:1.The influence of students' SLRA on their academic achievement and mathematic achievement;2.The influence of SLRA of the whole class on students' academic performance and mathematic performance;3.Similarities and differences in learning and living habits between students with strong and weak independent learning abilities.This article employed Hierarchical Linear Model(HLM)as the main analysis method after confirming that the questionnaire has high reliability and validity.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.SLRA has a positive and significant impact on academic performance.For every standard deviation increase in students' independent learning ability,the total score of their academic performance will be increased by 13.199 points out of 750 and math score will be increased by 9.769 points;2.The overall SLRA of the whole class has a significantly positive effect on the academic performance of the students in that class.The overall SLRA of the class increases by one standard deviation,the overall average score of the class increases by 20.566 points out of 750 and math score will be increased by 17.736 points;3.if students are divided into two categories that have strong and weak SRLA,these two category students have significant differences of both attitudes and habits towards study and life.In order to strengthen students 'autonomous learning ability,this paper believes that teachers can make efforts from the following aspects.First,train students' mathematics learning ability.Mathematics teachers should grade and optimize the mathematics learning content of high school students,and design effective courses for students at different levels;secondly,train students the correct mathematics learning methods.Only by mastering the appropriate mathematics learning methods through learning and practice can students improve their mathematics learning ability.For students with weak self-learning ability,teachers should teach knowledge while teaching and guide them to the correct learning methods;Thirdly,train students' ability to ask mathematical questions correctly.Students with weak self-learning ability may avoid giving up when they encounter mathematical problems.Teachers need to patiently guide them,encourage thinking,encourage questions,and stimulate students 'motivation and enthusiasm for learning mathematics.Finally,cultivate students' self-reflection and self-evaluation of mathematical knowledge.In the author's teaching,every session will require students to insist on making math error notes and post-examination analysis of each test papaer from the first year of high school.The purpose of making math error notes is to help students analyze the reasons for their mistakes and summarize the optimal solutions for this type of problem.Frequently reading the wrong question notes can effectively reduce the probability of students making mistakes on the same type of questions.The analysis of each test paper is to help students correctly recognize which modules they are weak in,to have a more accurate positioning of themselves,and to review and consolidate in a more targeted manner in the subsequent learning process.Teachers can help students develop good habits of self-reflection through these auxiliary measures.At the same time,schools can improve students' autonomous learning ability from the aspects of strengthening self-learning education for high school students,creating a good education environment and insisting on exploratory lectures.The conclusion is helpful for the government,schools and teachers to realize the importance of SRLA and provide suggestions for cultivating SRLA of classes and students.
