Research On The Development Status And Case Cultivation In Number Sense Of The Fifth-grade Students

The Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)clearly requires the establishment of students' number sense,and primary school is an important period for students to form the number sense,students of different levels also have differences on the standard of number sense.The purpose of this study is to improve students' number sense level through the case cultivation.At the same time,understand the current development status of students' number sense and the difference in number sense among students of different levels,so as to provide some teaching reference for teachers in the cultivation of number sense.This study mainly uses literature research,test investigation,interview and experiment methods to carry out.First of all,through reading the literature,combined with the suggestions of education experts and teachers,divides the number sense into six dimensions: the recognition of number,the presentation of number,the relation of numbers,the calculation of numbers,the estimation of numbers and the application of numbers.Then according to the requirements of curriculum standard(2011 Edition)and mathematics textbook for grade five in PEP edition,develop and implement the test paper and interview outline for students' number sense.Next using SPSS to analyze the development status of number sense,combined with interview records to explore the reasons for the problems in the development of number sense.Afterwards,on the basis of the previous research,select three medium students and three poor students in grade five of a primary school and make corresponding training plan to cultivation only in two dimensions of number calculation and number application.At the same time,using the two dimensions of number calculation and number application in the previous test of number sense to carry out the pre-test for the training.Moreover,design the mid-test ?the post-test and eight training problems;after that six objects of study were trained for four weeks,and the test of the early stage and the later stage were carried out;then combined with the analysis of the test paper answer to compare the scores of pre-test and mid-test of the medium students and the poor students separately.At the end of the training,interview the trained students,compare the results of the pre-test and post-test of the medium students and the poor students separately,next contrast the post-test scores of three levels of students,so as to analyze the training effect clearly and put forward corresponding teaching suggestions.Through the research on the development status in number sense of the fifth-grade students,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)The overall level of the fifth grade students' number sense is medium,and the development of the students' number sense is not balanced.(2)The fifth grade students' number sense level is the best in the number representation dimension and the worst in the number estimation dimension?The differences among the six dimensions are significant.(3)The number sense difference between boys and girls in grade five is not significant,but boys' performance is slightly better than girls'.According to the case cultivation study of fifth grade students' number sense,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Through training,the number sense level of the medium students and the poor students has been improved to a certain extent in number operation and number application dimension;among them,the improvement of the medium students is more obvious,and the improvement effect of the poor students is not obvious.(2)Through the early training,the application dimension of the number of the medium students has been significantly improved.There was no significant improvement in the calculation dimension and application dimension of numbers for the poor students.(3)Through the later training,the number calculation and application dimensions of the medium students are significantly improved,especially in the number application dimension.The number application dimension of the poor students was significantly improved,but the number calculation dimension was not significantly improved.(4)Through comparative analysis,the medium students and the poor students have made progress after training,but the progress of the medium students is obvious,and the progress of the poor students is relatively slow;however,there is still a certain gap between the two and the excellent students.(5)According to the training results,the fifth grade students' number sense can be cultivated,but it needs long-term efforts and persistence.Based on the above conclusions,combined with relevant theories and teaching practice,the following teaching suggestions are summarized: First,strengthen teachers' consciousness of number sense cultivation and integrate it into teaching practice;second,according to the cognitive development stage of the students,the teaching should be based on the life situation;third,the students of different levels are trained individually;fourth,the use of variant training should be reasonable;fifth,pay attention to students' learning methods and problem solving methods;sixth,help students form good study habits and writing habits.The shortcomings of this study are as follows: First,the research objects are mainly concentrated in one area,and the scope is small.Whether the survey results are applicable to other areas remains to be verified.Second,the case training objects are few and the time is limited.It still needs to be tested whether it can represent the whole.Third,the knowledge involved in the study is mainly concentrated in the first,third and fifth chapters of the last semester of grade five.Whether the knowledge of other grades and other aspects can adapt needs further study.Fourth,this study only focuses on the two dimensions of number calculation and application,other aspects of the research can only be left for later.
