The core literacy of mathematics is a thinking quality and important ability that plays an important role in the future development of students in the process of learning mathematics.The "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011)" clearly proposes ten core literacy,and "number sense" is the ten core Literacy is the first,so the study of number sense will help to improve the theoretical and practical research of mathematical core literacy.This study focuses on the core issue of the number sense of grade six students in Xinjiang production and Construction Corps.The questionnaire test and classroom observation are used to measure and evaluate the number sense of grade six students in primary school.This study adopts the definition of logarithmic sense of curriculum standard: "Number sense mainly refers to the perception about number and quantity,quantity relation,calculation result estimation and so on.Building a sense of Numbers helps students understand the meaning of Numbers in real life and understand or express the quantitative relationship in specific situations." According to the literature review,the elements of the sense of number are divided into six aspects: "the meaning of number,the relationship between numbers,the representation of numbers,the operation of numbers,the estimation of numbers,and the problem-solving of numbers".According to the six components of the sense of number,the sixth grade students' sense of number test paper is compiled,and 490 students from six schools of different levels in three normal cities of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps are evaluated.The statistics and analysis are made from the overall performance of the sixth grade students in the sense of number and the specific forms of each element.At the same time,the questionnaire survey is made on 80 mathematics teachers in the investigated schools And the classroom observation,analyzes its in the number sense training existence puzzle and provides the attribution basis for the student number sense training existence question.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:The overall performance of the sixth grade students' sense of number within the Corps is lower than the middle level.There is no difference between boys and girls in the overall performance of the sense of number.Grade six students perform well in "number expression","number relationship" and "number operation",but not in "number meaning","number estimation" and "number problem solving".There are significant gender differences in the "number relationship " between boys and girls.Based on the above results,the following suggestions are proposed:At the teacher level: teachers should develop curriculum resources,construct rich teaching situations,stimulate students' interest in mathematics learning,and pay attention to training students' estimation ability and diversity of algorithms in classroom teaching.At the level of textbook arrangement: the setting and compilation of mathematics teaching materials in primary schools should start from the perspective of developing students' sense of number.The problem situations of example questions and after class exercises should be connected with students' life reality,and the content of hands-on operation should be increased,so that students can develop sense of number in solving practical problems and cultivate sense of number in hands-on operation.
