Research On Sports In Literary Sketches Of The Qing Dynasty

By using the methods of literature study and logical analysis,this paper sorts out the sports contents in the literary sketches of Qing Dynasty and analyzes the characteristics of the development of sports in Qing Dynasty.The study found that,in terms of length,horsemanship and archery was the most sports activity described in the literary sketches of Qing Dynasty,while ball games and women's sports activities are less recorded.The number of literary sketches could prove the popularity of various sports activities circumstantially in Qing Dynasty.According to the research,the aristocratic sports participation in Qing Dynasty showed the ethnic difference of"Manchu advocates race while Han prefers quite".Some traditional sports activities declined during this period,and the preferences of the rulers and national policies are the important factors that affect the rise and fall of sports activities.Influenced by the political environment,the "Qianjia School" flourished in the early Qing Dynasty,and the textual research on sports activities becomes an important part of the intellectuals'archaeological research in Qing dynasty.The literary sketches in Qing Dynasty and the official history can complement each other.It still has a lot of research space,which is of great value as sports historical materials.However,we should also pay attention to the discrimination of historical materials when using them.
