In the early and mid-Qing dynasties,from 1644 AD to 1840 AD,its military activities were still dominated by cold weapons.In order to enhance the combat effectiveness of the army,the Qing army carried out a variety of military sports training activities.These military training activities have developed into modern times and become an important part of traditional national sports activities.Historical Value.This article uses historical analysis as the main research method,combining the literature method,the induction method,the deduction method,and the content analysis method to collect,organize,and classify historical materials such as books describing the history of the Qing Dynasty,cultural relics and relics about military sports in the Qing Dynasty analysis and research.Through research,comb the content of the army's traditional national sports activities in the early and middle periods of the Qing Dynasty,analyze its characteristics,and explore its historical value.The national traditional sports activities of the army in the early and mid-Qing dynasties were mainly divided into athletics,confrontation and group coordination.Competitive classes include equestrian,archery and ice sports.The equestrian sport is based on actual combat needs,and has derived a variety of items such as running horses,vaulting horses and dressing horses.Archery is not only an important military skill,but also regarded as a feature of national culture,it has become a sport highly respected by the Qing emperor;Ice sports are dominated by ice sports.The rulers regard ice sports as "national customs",which have not only sports but also political functions.The confrontation category includes wrestling and martial arts.Wrestling and martial arts are both important combat skills when joining short soldiers.Because of their high viewing value,they also become performance items for banquet celebrations.The exchange of military martial arts and folk martial arts has also promoted the development of martial arts activities.Group collaboration projects are mainly water sports,formation exercises and cloud ladders.Like water formation exercises,water sports not only have a sports function,but also an important way to coordinate training in military training.Like safari activities,water sports have become an indispensable part of military training;In order to cultivate soldiers' ability to build ladders for siege,the Qing Dynasty army combined the Saiweihu movement with the Yunti exercises,which not only enriched the training content of soldiers,but also promoted the development and spread of Manchu traditional sports.The characteristics of the national traditional sports activities of the army in the early and mid-Qing dynasties were mainly based on military skills,drawing on the traditional national sports activities with military training functions;The content of sports activities is constantly evolving,innovating,and deleting according to the needs ofmilitary combat missions;Military sports activities are spread through frequent military activities,enriching the content of military sports activities;Large-scale cooperative sports activities are the basis of military training,which mainly focuses on hunting and formation exercises;Take Qishe and Bingxi as representatives,according to the cultural characteristics of Manchu,they are used as an important carrier to realize national cohesion and identity.The value of the traditional national sports activities carried out in the army in the early and mid-Qing dynasties was mainly to significantly enhance the cohesion and combat effectiveness of the army and to enrich the assessment contents of the soldiers,while also meeting the needs of the rulers for the protection of the national culture.
