The process of building China an innovation-oriented country has entered the most important stage.How to steadily strengthen technological innovation capabilities and realize the perfect transformation to a high-quality development stage has become the primary concern in this critical period.However,the company is not only confronted with problems such as fierce market competition and short product cycles,but also limited by capital,talent and other conditions,so it is difficult to rely on itself to complete the research and development of new products and final promotion.For overcoming the series of problems in corporate innovation,the state introduced the policy of setting up post-doctoral workstations in corporation in 1997.During more than 20 years of exploration,corporate post-doctoral workstations have made some achievements,but at the same time,they have been pointed out that there are some problems,such as "empty stations".So,are the corporate post-doctoral workstations deserved the name?Does the introduction of the post-doctoral workstation policy really help to enhance the innovation ability of the company?And with the establishment of various technology R&D centers and research institutes in the company,does the corporate post-doctoral workstations still play an effective role in promoting technological innovation?These issues are worth exploring.From the perspective of the establishment of an innovation organization:corporate post-doctoral workstations,this article taking the 2007-2016 CSI A-share listed companies as the research sample,using the propensity score matching method and the difference-in-difference model to test the impact of corporate post-doctoral workstations on its technological innovation capabilities,and make in-depth analysis of its functionary mechanism and accommodating variables.The results show that:(1)Compared with the companies without post-doctoral workstation,the companies with a post-doctoral workstation have a stronger ability of technological innovation,which shows the setting of post-doctoral workstation has played a significant role in promoting innovation.Further analysis found that the better the performance of the workstations,the higher the level of the collaborating institutions,the stronger the technological innovation promotion effect.(2)The construction of the post-doctoral workstation has significantly increased the innovative talents reserves and government subsidies,indicating that in the current operation of Chinese enterprises,corporate post-doctoral workstation promoted the innovation mainly through talents channels and capital channels.(3)According to the analysis of heterogeneous factors,in private enterprises and non-high-tech industries,the innovation promotion effects of post-doctoral workstations are more significant.In theory,this paper expands the research paradigm of corporate innovation from the perspective of innovative organization system,enriching the research on the comprehensive influencing factors of innovation.In practice,it has important practical reference value for enterprises to found innovative platforms,develop industry-university-research cooperation and implement innovative development strategies,and also has enlightenment value for policy to formulate science and technology policies.
