The assessment of social work students' performance is an important part of the social work professional practice.It undertakes the evaluation of the students' 800-hour practice and is an indispensable part of social work education.In this way,universities have developed a professional practice evaluation system.However,in the process of implementation,the results have been deviated from the truth due to various factors.The Smith process model is one of the interpretation theories of institutional execution deviation.It is believed that in the process of system implementation,idealized institutional texts,executors,institutional target groups and environmental factors have important impact on the results of system implementation.In the system of social work professional practice evaluation,students have experienced a complete process,and the evaluation of practice results has the greatest impact on students.From the interviews of students,it is possible to obtain enough real and rich information,and this study is based on the Smith process model.Under the guidance of the theory,from the perspective of the master students of social work,this paper explores how the results may be deviated in the process of system implementation,and analyzes the impact of the resulting deviation.In this study,the in-depth interview method was used to select the social work professional master students who had experienced professional practice in S City,university A.The interviewees were selected to obtain more information,and then the snowball method was more exposed.There are 15 students were interviewed,including 13 from A and 2 from B.From the perspective of students,we find out how the system was implemented in the performance evaluation;How do students view such systems and system implementation,and what tactics were adopted to deal with them?What is the impact of the system implementation?Finally,according to the research results,the corresponding suggestions for the improvement of the social work professional master's practice evaluation system are provided.The research findings are as follows:(1)University A has made relatively perfect regulations on the evaluation of MSW practice result,however due to the lack of institutional constraints on teachers,clear rules for student assessment,institutional supervision's proportion of grade,and the lack of consistency in student reporting,this has had an impact on the interaction and practice of the assessor and the target group,resulting the deviations.(2)For teachers' effective implementation and deviating implementation,which expressed as dogmatic assessment,formal assessment and the lack of fairness and equality,students have their own tactics,such as good deeds,self-respect,self-beauty,and silent compromises,based on their different practice results.The joint "effort" between teachers and students ultimately led to the deviation of the results of the practice evaluation results—the separation of performance and ability;(3)This deviation eventually led to students'questioning of talent cultivation,indifference of practice evaluation and the reproduction in the future.Based on above research findings,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Prove the system of social work professional master's practice evaluation,including more flexibility in internship tasks and assignment requirements;Optimize the proportion of students' internship grades and increase student reporting consistency.(2)Strengthen the constraints and norms of the assessors,ensure that teachers complete the assessment tasks in accordance with the regulations,giving students more respect and understanding in the assessment,and avoid the negative impacts caused by lack of understanding and disrespect;(3)Guide students to establish correct values.The purpose of internship is to gain the improvement of professional skills rather than compiling the ability of packaging.Secondly,guide students to pay attention to reflection,consolidate what they have learned and reflect the inadequacies for professional growth with the help of the students and teachers.
