With the open teacher education system developing continuously,comprehensive universities are playing an increasingly important part in teacher training.In order to explore a path suitable for the teacher education development of comprehensive universities,this study makes a holistic investigation in terms of the professional identity condition of pre-service teachers,in expectation of providing supports for promoting the teacher education in those colleges.This study aims at making an inquire into the professional identity condition of the 2016 ? 2019 normal school undergraduates from H university from aspects of professional will,professional value,professional emotion and professional efficacy in the form of questionnaire and interview.By analyzing 1620 questionnaires and 48 interviews,this study finds that those pre-service students of comprehensive universities do not have a strong professional identity.In addition,the teacher career identity of those pre-service teachers appears imbalanced in those four dimensions,with their professional value strongest and their professional will weakest.There is no apparent difference in the teacher professional identity of pre-service teachers from different places of registration,but there are significant distinctions in that of pre-service teachers of different grades,genders and majors.For example,the professional identity of grade 2016 normal college students is higher than that of students from other grades;girl students' surpass boy students';students' of arts and sports exceed normal students'.This study also finds that there was a high correlation between personal factors and professional identity of pre-service teachers,while there was a moderate correlation between school factors,social factors and family factors,and the correlation declined in turn.The sub-factors of these factors have different influence on the professional identity of pre-service teachers.Based on the survey results and the actual situation of H university,this study proposes seven suggestions with the purpose of enhancing the pre-service teachers' professional identity in comprehensive universities.First,to strengthen the policy support and promote the development of teacher education;second,to be strict with the selection of pre-service teachers and improve the source quality;third,to create the culture of teacher education and pay attention to the “teaching”;fourth to optimize the teacher education curriculum system and improve the “practical”;fifth,to intensify the training of pre-service teachers and improve their professional qualities;sixth,to reinforce education internships and ensure the quality of internships;finally,to have a fully understand ourselves and stimulate the endogenous motivation of career development.
