Study On The Value Of Tao Te Ching's “Bao Pu”on Contemporary College Students' Self Cognition

As early as the Spring and Autumn Period in BC,Lao Tzu had put forward the rudiment of the concept of self-cognition.In Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching,he metaphorizes human's self-nature as "Pu",and "Pu" refers to the honest and simple self-nature of all things that have not been contaminated by the secular world.Lao Tzu also repeatedly emphasized the importance of "Bao Pu" in Tao Te Ching,that is,recognizing and conserving self-nature.Ordinary people can reach the state of "Jue Xue" if they can "Bao Pu",saints and kings can win the world and people's hearts if they can "Bao Pu".In the 19 th century,as a psychological concept,self-cognition was proposed by American psychologists.It refers to the individual's understanding of his own behavior and mental state.Self-cognition is not only a process in which an individual actively understands himself,but also a process in which an individual actively improves and develops himself on the basis of self-perception.This process is accompanied by the growth of a person's life.Correct and positive self-cognition can lead to the continuous enrichment and improvement of the individual,while wrong and negative self-cognition will lead to the collapse of the individual,so self-cognition is of great significance for the growth and development of the individual.This paper makes full use of literature research,analysis and comparison,questionnaire survey,historical research and other methods,adheres to the combination of theoretical interpretation and practical analysis,and systematically studies the value of "Bao Pu" to contemporary college students' self-perception.First of all,this paper introduces the background and significance of the research.On the basis of combing the existing research results,this paper puts forward the research ideas,research methods and innovations.Secondly,from the theoretical level,it mainly discusses the "Bao Pu" thought,self-perception and the related concepts,characteristics,functions and other contents of contemporary college students' self-perception,and more in-depth excavation of the internal relationship between "Bao Pu" thought and self-perception,so as to reflect the guiding value of "Bao Pu" thought to self-perception.Thirdly,on the basis of summarizing the data of the questionnaire survey,this paper fully analyzes the current situation of self-perception of contemporary collegecontemporary college students.From the results of the investigation and research,using the thought of "Bao Pu" to guide the self-perception of contemporary college students is conducive to the comprehensive improvement of the self-perception of contemporary college students on their personality,daily life and academic career;the fourth part is to use the thought of "Bao Pu",Chinese excellent traditional culture,ideological and political education in colleges and universities,family and society the atmosphere will provide specific path guidance for the correct self-perception of contemporary college students.Because only the basic content of "Bao Pu" thought can not improve the current situation of college students' self-awareness in an all-round way,it must be put in the background of our current higher education era,and can be realized through a variety of specific means.However,it should be noted that we must take a critical and dialectical attitude when we use the idea of "Bao Pu",otherwise it will only play a negative role in the self-perception of contemporary college students.As General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed,"to run a socialist university with Chinese characteristics well,we should adhere to morality,cultivate people,integrate the cultivation and practice of socialist core values into the whole process of teaching and educating people;strengthen ideological guidance,and firmly grasp the leadership of ideological work in colleges and universities." It is intended to show that the self-awareness of contemporary college students must be based on the development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and guided by the socialist core values,which is the innovation and creation of the times for the thought of "Bao Pu",and also the inevitable requirement for correctly guiding the self-perception of contemporary college Students.
