In recent years,nations all over the world put a lot of efforts into the development of scientific and technological education,and assign human resources,materials and money to technological education reform to an unprecedented level.During reform,the thought of STEM is rapidly spread all over the world.All countries gradually introduce STEM course at all stages from K-12 to higher education.Though China is experiencing rapid development of economy,science,and technology,its STEM course is still at its early stage.Many schools begin to include STEM course into school-based curriculum,to lay a solid foundation for the local development of STEM education.The school-based STEM course for junior middle school students in North Heavy Industry No.1 High School of Baotou was studied-Analyze its development process preparation goal and contents of school-based STEM course,and deeply study the learning mode of STEM course by junior middle school students as a basis for writing STEM courses.The study focuses on the school-based practice of STEM course,and theoretically demonstrates the implementation of STEM course from its target,textbook construction,teaching mode design,teaching practice evaluation.The whole paper consists of six parts.First,it is introduced the study background,intent,and methods,organized and analyzed the study status quo of school-based STEM course at home and abroad in chapter I.Second,it is introduced the theory overview in chapter II,which is conceptually defined and analyzed the study core,namely,the meaning of STEM course and school-based curriculum development philosophy.then it is sketched the theoretical basis,mainly referring to the theoretical foundation of education and curriculum.And finally it is established the goal,development procedure,and specific implementation scheme of school-based STEM course Synthesis and Application.Third,it is the basis of the whole study in chapter ?·The author prepared a questionnaire,collected and analyzed the Students' interests and needs questionnaire results,and inducted to prepare the course outline.Forth,it is key to the study in chapter IV,mainly describing its teaching mode and strategies,and using teaching practices and cases for analysis.Fifth,it is showed the implementation and evaluation of school-based STEM course,including specific implementation process,evaluation methods and contents.The evaluation contents not only cover those of students,also of teachers and the course.It is summarized the whole study in part VI,summarized the shortages and looked forward to future studies.The study can be used to guide the practice of STEM course in the future.Through analysis,the author found that school-based STEM course has been developed in developed areas,but is merely heard in underdeveloped areas.It is difficult to promote school-based STEM course in junior middle school and high school because students and their parents have a low acceptance towards it and teachers have limited capability.Nowadays,the school-based curriculum STEM is progressed slowly and needs the support of the education field.
