Since the 20 th century,The employment structure of the skill-biased labor market in the developed regions typified by the United States shows a two-tiered trend. In terms of employment structure: over time, the routine work is squeezed out of the market by the unroutine work, that is,"middle part is low and both ends are high"(the proportion of high and low skilled labor force employment increases, the proportion of middle skilled employment decreases).Under the background of such a general trend, this paper mainly studies the relationship between technological progress and China's labor market structure from two angles of macro and micro. From a macro perspective, first of all, using the six-year national census data of 1982,1990,2000,2005,2010 and 2015,the study found that China's labor market has a trend of polarization.Secondly, through the least square method with fixed effects to explore the impact of biased technological progress on the polarization of the Chinese labor market,it is concluded that labor-biased technological progress is significantly beneficial to unconventional knowledge-based and unconventional operation workers(such as waiters),Which is not conducive to regular operation workers(such as repetitive manual workers). In the end,it shows that labor-biased technological advancement has a strengthening effect on labor “polarization”.From a micro-level analysis, using the 2015 CLDS data, through the disordered multiple selection model to further verify the impact of biased technological progress on labor market demand. The results of the study show that during 2015,with routine operation needs as the benchmark group, technological progress in favor of labor has a greater role in promoting unconventional operation needs and unconventional knowledge-based needs;in other words,labour-biased technological advances were more favourable to Unroutine tasks of needs, promoting both unconventional and knowledge-based needs,so robots did not replace unskilled and highly skilled workers, consistent with our macro-expected results. Finally, some policy suggestions are given according to the research results.
