Higher vocational education is one of the key development sectors in China's future education,and it is also the cradle for cultivating elite workers and engineers for China to become a manufacturing power.With the increase of national investment,scientific research projects in higher vocational colleges are also gradually increasing.However,at present there are some problems in the management of scientific research progress in higher vocational colleges,and there are few theoretical and applied researches that use management methods for detailed discussion.Traversing the mainstream databases,relevant research remains to be explored.Taking MG Higher Vocational College,a national public higher vocational college,as an example,this paper summarizes the two major problems existing in the progress management of scientific research projects in MG Higher Vocational College through statistical analysis of the detailed status and supporting policies of scientific research projects in MG Higher Vocational College in the past three years,analyzes the three major causes of the two major problems,and proposes an effective progress management solution based on critical chain method and special status markers.Through investigation and analysis,it is found that there are two major problems in the scientific research projects of MG Higher Vocational College at present: the project schedule is delayed,and the quality of the final questions is reduced due to poor control of the early stage of the project.These problems caused by hard constraints or soft constraints make the normal completion rate of scientific research projects of MG Higher Vocational College only about 60% every year.However,the lack of rigorous analysis and arrangement by the project team in the preparation stage of the project plan,the lack of sufficient progress tracking and early warning by the college in the process of project implementation,and the lack of timely intervention measures by the college for projects with progress problems in the process of project implementation are the three main reasons for these two problems.The special marking schedule management system designed by critical chain method can effectively improve the problems existing in the schedule management of scientific research projects in the college and improve the quality of scientific research.On the premise of considering that higher vocational teachers enjoy the specialoccupation of winter and summer vacations according to law,this paper first implemented targeted schedule optimization through critical chain method,which shortened the expected time consumption of the target project by more than a quarter.After that,based on critical chain method,this paper puts forward a project schedule management system using six special project status markers: a single monthly buffer consumption status marker BMs,a single monthly quality completion status marker QMs,a buffer consumption status marker BM,a quality completion status marker QM,an auxiliary marker aBM and an auxiliary marker aQM,and designs a semi-automatic operation mode for this system to reduce the workload of managers and improve management efficiency.The management system covers the project initiation stage and the project execution stage.BM series marks are used for time management in progress management,while QM series are used for corresponding quality management.The special marking schedule management system based on critical chain method enables MG Higher Vocational College to control the schedule and resource consumption of each scientific research project in real time and realize timely intervention,which provides sufficient guarantee for each project to run well according to the plan.Under the condition that the external factors such as policies,teams and leaders are basically the same,through the trial operation of this scientific research project schedule management mode in the college,the problem rate of the scientific research project schedule in the trial operation year of the college is greatly reduced,and the normal completion rate of the project is increased by 49.5%.This paper can provide an effective management strategy for scientific research progress management in various higher vocational colleges.
