With the science and the rapid development of technology,learning society has arrived,the emergence of new technologies,such as Internet network teaching let all sorts of study resource more rich,obviously we need to constantly update our knowledge,however,if the individual learning just to get some skills degree or diploma,learning is no longer concerned about individual life itself,and then the true meaning of learning also wiped out,this is the study of the era of crisis lies in the learning time,maybe we should rethink the meaning of learning to the individual growth,reflect on learning and individual life full of contact.This paper attempts to through the analysis of Plato The philosophy of education contained in the metaphor of the cave of the Republic in search of a connection between learning and the Integrated Person.Plato's use the cave as a metaphor for the nature of the educated and the uneducated is regarded as the most classic metaphor in education and the core of educational thought in the Republic.Therefore,understanding Plato and the cave metaphor may give some inspiration to educational research from the origin.This paper takes the cave metaphor in Plato's Republic as the basic structure,and is divided into four parts.The firstis to clarify how learning relates to the Integrated Person.Plato believed that learning is the ability possessed by the individual soul and the eye of the soul.Therefore,learning serves as the basis for the individual to see the world.The Integrated Person is the transcendence from the body to the soul,so as to realize the virtue.Take the cave metaphor as the background for understanding individual learning and Integrated Person.Cave is the basic situation for people to survive.On this basis,the inner and outer of the cave can be regarded as individual learning and Growth process,and the soul can be turned in the way of descending,ascending and descending.The paper then starts with the ignorance in the cave as the beginning of individual learning,which is the initial basic state of individual existence,The fundamental condition of the individual in the cave is that his body is bound and unable to move,So the person in a state of ignorance.Only when the body is freed from the chains can the body turn to see the fire,which is the enlightenment of the individual mind,and this stage is the preparation for the individual rational learning.The next is followed by the learning of the rugged trails in the cave.This stage corresponds to the individual's stageof intellectual learning.It discusses from the three aspects of the difficulties of intellectual learning,the development of intellectual learning and how the soul overcomes the difficulties and rises.Regarding the specific development of individual intellectual learning,the impact of intellectual learning subjects on the growth of individuals is mainly explained from the direction of intellectual learning,the process of intellectual learning,and the results of intellectual learning.The study of these preparatory subjects is an important medium for individuals to realize soul turning.Finally,it is the learning of the individual out and return the cave.The individual realizes the turning of the soul through philosophical learning,and constantly pursues higher concepts of goodness and morality,He will choose to return to the cave again.In this sense,learning has become a way of life for individuals,a kind of life practice that leads to goodness,and guides individuals to pursue a higher level of goodness above "skills",thus leading individuals to become Integrated Person.
