With more and more people learning Chinese in the world,the demand for Chinese tests is also increasing.The Confucius Institute Headquarters / Hanban has successively developed and implemented a series of Chinese exams,and Taiwan has also developed and implemented various Chinese tests.Among many tests,many papers have been published on the comparative analysis of the New Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi(New HSK)and Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language(New TOCFL),but there are few studies on new Youth Chinese Test(new YCT)and new Children' s Chinese Com petency Certification(new CCCC).The paper takes these two tests as the research object,and compares the basic situati on,listening and reading parts of the two to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of them.Based on the comparative analysis,the paper also puts forward feasibility suggestions for the new YCT and provides reference for the Chinese language proficiency test.The paper uses the past years' exam papers of Level-1,Level-2 and Level-3 of new YCT and the official simulation test papers including budding level,growth level,and strong level of new CCCC from the same year.First,the basic situation of the new YCT and the new CCCC is compared;second,the corresponding relationship between the two is com pared and analyzed fro m the perspectiv e of CEFR;and then the p aper analyzes the listening and r eading parts of the tw o tests from the aspects of question type design,proportion of the examination,question presentation method,and material length.Finally,corresponding suggestions fo r the shortcomings of the new YCT are proposed.Through a series of comparative analysis,the paper finds th at the new YCT has shortcomings in question design,material length,listening spee d,and selection of pictures.In terms of listening,the new YCT can learn from the new CCCC and adopt a new half-hearing mode with increasing the question type and the length of listening materials and appropriately speeding up li stening;in reading,the new YCT should optimize the selection of pictures and appropriate ly increase the length of reading materials.In addition,the two sides of th e Taiwan Strait should also strengthen cooperation to jointly promote the development of the Chinese language proficiency test.The new YCT and new CCCC which are less concerned by previous people are used as research objects in th is paper to provide reference fo r the follow-up researches in this field.At the same time,there are som e limitations in this paper,including the insufficiency of research samples and the deficiency of the com parative analysis and the new CCCC-related research data.
