With the development of "mandarin fever", Chinese have occupied an increasingly important position in the world. Among them, the Chinese teaching for children is an important part of teaching Chinese as a second language. China pays great attention to the development and of Chinese teaching for children. Confucius institute headquarters had made the "YCT" for children, and wrote many kinds of Chinese textbooks for children. On the other hand, more and more scholars begin to study children’s Chinese textbooks and teaching method.In fact, children’s Chinese teaching in China still lays behind in adult Chinese teaching in our country. Some children’s Chinese textbooks on the market are also uneven. Many teachers cannot choose the real suitable textbooks, resulting in a large number of wasted textbooks. On the other hand, most of children’s Chinese textbooks are "word oriented" which neglecting the teaching of Chinese characters.Facing these problems, the author found that the study on the "Chinese characters oriented "textbooks are a relatively new field, which worthy of our analysis and research. In many of children’s Chinese teaching textbooks, "World Young Learner’s Chinese" and "ZHONGWEN" are using characters as basic units of Chinese and the style of teaching Chinese and teaching Chinese according to the arrangement of the learning process of Chinese characters. Follow the laws of Chinese teaching from easy to difficult.Therefore, this article based on the "World Young Learner’s Chinese’ and "ZHONGWEN" as an examples, Comparing theirteachingplanning, teaching contents and the teaching of Chinese characters. And also using the YCT outline and "International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education" as a reference to discover the advantages and disadvantages of these two textbooks, and put forward some relevant opinions of future children Chinese textbooks.
