The magnetic field section constitutes an important part in High school Physics,which ranges from mechanics,electrics,kinematics,power etc..It demands students in high school acquire abilities in areas like mathematics,spatial thinking,and logic to certain degree,which,on the other hand,works as the foundation of electromagnetism.With the aforementioned elements,magnetic field has become the key point as well as the difficult point among high school student.Physics is the basic science aimed at studying the forms of movements and the basic structures of substances,while mathematics is concentrated on the spatial and numeral relations.Although they differ from each other in terms of research subject,and ways of thinking,they share the same object,which is to help people explore the basic rules of the world,and make it available for people in practice.With a deeper understanding of the world in the perspective of physics,mathematics becomes an indispensable tool in physics,for it serves as a concise and compact language.Without it,it's difficult to direct our research from qualitative analysis to quantitative study.In this paper,the author conducted a comparative study to find the connection between physics and mathematics,based on the physics scores and mathematics scores from all the students in Yucai Middle School in their first school year.After careful comparison,the author found that for the majority of the students,the Pearson Index of the relativity between Physics and Mathematics is above 0.700**,some even reached 0.883**,which well indicated that the mastery of Mathematics is the prerequisite for promoting Physics scores.With reference to the requirements of the “Curriculum Standard for High School physics” and “National unified examination program for enrollment of ordinary colleges and Universities” on magnetic field in high school stage,and taking into account the result of the survey and interview on the students of 2018 in Yucai in terms of their academic performance in learning magnetic field,it becomes possible for us to come to a conclusion that the mathematical tools that students have mastered cannot satisfy the need of students on learning physics.To be more specific,in magnetic field section,the most frequently covered knowledge point in tests is “the motion of an electric particle in a magnetic field ”,which would involve the understanding of “circle” in mathematical perspective.In addition,special resolution approaches as scaling circle and dynamic circle are also covered on a regular basis.Hence,the author hereby put forward a set of teaching strategies for teachers and learning methods for students.In learning,the students should(a)develop a good learning habit,promoting the ability of learning(b)lay a solid foundation of for learning physics through the mastery of mathematics(c)avoid the tendency of“mathematics accounting for everything.In teaching practice,teachers should(a)foster students' awareness of applying mathematics(b)make complements and transitionwhen necessary(c)stress the fusion of knowledge(d)cultivate students' ability to apply mathematical tools.Therefore,the author,in his teaching process,made and attempt to enforce a systematic review on mathematics.Despite the discovery in the survey and scores that students are engaged in this new strategy,the sad fact is that students' interests are merely out of curiosity and novelty,which is ineffective for physics teaching.The aforementioned attempt throw light on the fact that it is an effective solution for physics teachers to apply some mathematical knowledge on“circle” to arouse students' interest in magnetic fields when the teacher come to realize the importance of “circle”,but this trans-subject attempt is not for the long-term teaching practice.And what we should do is to stick to physics as the pivot,and utilize mathematical modes of thinking in our teaching practice.
