This study was oriented to probe the practicability of preservice teachers tutoring programs provided at Ecole Normale Superieure(ENS)in Nouakchott.ENS is a higher educational institute in Mauritania. The school founded purposely to offer a teacher education training program to trainee teachers who would become teachers officially at public schools in Mauritania after they complete the entire duration of the two-year preservice tutoring program at ENS College in Nouakchott. After the applicants pass the entrance exam to enroll for the tutoring program, the ENS administration imposes on trainees to complete the entire duration of the training period to get the teaching license and an available teaching certificate in the Republic of Mauritania.During the training duration, trainee teachers engaged in attending theoretical coursework classes, and later on,they would send for internship training sessions on teaching practices under the supervision of their mentors to better their teaching competency before trainee teachers start to teach officially at schools. Also,ENS College is the only existing institute center that takes the responsibility to train preservice teachers along with the country where there is no other teacher college in Mauritania besides ENS school for teacher education training. As the 2015 report explains the education situation in the country and the decrease of students pass rate in national exams such as BEC and NBC,some studies indicate that teachers practices inherited form their initial training education and have an essential influence on students' achievement(Sina&Vathiya 2006;&Kruijer,2010&Palardy et al.2008).As it has been stated above, the study planned to investigate the practicability ENS tutoring program to find out to what extent ENS training is adequately enough to foster trainee teachers teaching competency before they assigned to schools to teach classrooms. An explanatory sequential method was the method used to collect data for this study.Five Likert scale questionnaires were used as an instrument to quantitative data as quantitative is the primary method utilized in this study.Semi-structured interviews conducted to approve and support findings obtained from the survey.A sample of 100 preservice and in-service teachers and two mentors were the samples that consisted of the population of this study. The researcher employed descriptive and inferential analysis to get numerical findings for the quantitative side and used the techniques of coding and categorizing items to summarize themes from interview findings. Results showed that some refining and remedy aspects needed to be embodied in the ENS preservice tutoring program to make it adequately practical for trainee teachers to learn teaching skills they need to confront 21 teaching challenges.
