At present,international student education as an important means of developing public diplomacy has been recognized and valued by all countries in the world.It is believed that international student education plays an important role in spreading values,promoting international understanding and shaping national image in this field.Therefore,more and more countries are no longer limited to international student education as a service trade,but to promote it to a national strategic height,in order to promote international exchanges and national interests.This emerging development trend in the field of international student education has important practical significance for Australia,whose education industry is prosperous but has limited international influence.Therefore,in recent years,the Australian government is committed to continuously improving its education policy for international student education students to attract overseas students from more countries and regions to study in Australia,thereby enhancing its own cultural soft power and international influence.Based on this,this article takes Australian students education policy as the research object,using literature research method and historical study method,through to happen since 2009 in Sydney and Melbourne,a series of foreign students education crisis,explore the problems in the process of developing foreign student education in Australia and the resulting crisis of public diplomacy;And realistic background,focus on after 2010 Australian policy adjustment and improvement in students,analysis the adjustment of its policy to develop education for international students,especially the impact of Australia's public diplomacy;And it also summarizes the positiveexperience,provides a reference for China to promote public diplomacy and enhance cultural soft power construction through international student education.As a neighboring country in the Asia-Pacific region,Australia has not only made remarkable achievements in the development of international student education,but also in the face of educational dilemmas and diplomatic crises,it has been able to change its development thinking in a timely manner,base on the height of public diplomacy strategy,and adjust the education policy of international students in due course,Not only promoted the further development of international students education,but also improved the international image,and laid a good foundation for public diplomacy.This has important reference value for China,which is seeking to match with the rising power status and build a cultural power.Therefore,our government,education departments and universities can regard the international student education as a breakthrough in the development of public diplomacy,with the improvement of the experience of international students as the core,and the expansion of bilateral exchanges as the path to continuously improve existing international students educational policy,in order to promote more overseas students to study in China,cultivate their goodwill and affection for Chinese society,thus provide a good public opinion environment for the development of China's public diplomacy.
