Study On Managerial Issues Concerning International Students At Chinese Medial Universities

High-level internationalized overseas student education is a reflection of the depth of internationalization of higher education in advanced countries, and it is also a key indicator of the first-class universities globally. Since the beginning of the "Opening Up and Reform", the overseas student education has been booming, the comprehensive strength as well as the international influence of our country’s higher education has been continuously boosted, meanwhile the educational level and the quality of our personnel cultivation have made remarkable progress. The issuing of the Outline of National Education Reform and Development for Long and Medium Term (2010-2020) has speeded up the internationalization process of education. Besides, the government encourages universities to actively recruit overseas students to study in China. At the same time, the "Blueprint for Study in China (for overseas students)" implemented by China makes our country one of the major destinations for international students to study. Hence the international student education has achieved unprecedented development.Along with continuous expansion of the trend of internationalization of higher education, more and more overseas students choose China to pursue their studies at medical universities. The rapid expansion of the scale of international medical education poses a challenge to our country’s higher medical education, while the management and administration of international medical students are getting more complicated. How to well manage these international medical students has become a new issue for various medical universities to face, continuous reform and exploration on the managerial style for international medical students have now become a heated topic for universities to chew on.In this article, literature analysis, comparative study, history analysis and survey with questionaires have been used. Based on Tianjin Medical University, I did analytical study on outstanding issues arisen from current managerial process of international medical students, referring to the successful and unsuccessful experiences of universities at home and abroad, innovative ways of managing international medical students have been explored, which is compatible with China’s current situation, in a bid to improve such managerial level, to realize the sustainable development of international medical student education, in order to strengthen the international influence and competitiveness of medical universities of our country.
