Objective: we observed the effects of football training on lower limb muscle mass, lower extremity static muscle strength and lower extremity muscle dynamic strength of male college student, and deeply discussed the impact of football training on lower extremity muscle strength,in order to provide for the theoretical basis for the improvement of football training performance and the prevention of sports injuries and also for coach training. Methods: 50 male college students majoring in elementary education in School of Education were selected,of which 25 participated in football training as the experimental group, and the other 25 did not participate in football training as the control group. In the experimental group, the exercise intensity is 55%-69% of the maximum heart rate(220-age),which is equivalent to 50%-69%VO2max.The training method is 90 minutes each time,3 times a week,a total of 8 week. The college students in the control group did not make any intervention and proceeded according to the original way of life. After 8 weeks of training, all subjects were tested for indicators such as lower extremity muscle mass, hip abduction and abduction, hip extension, knee flexion and extension, and ankle strength.Results:(1)Compared with the control group, the muscle mass of the lower limbs of football training college students increased significantly(P<0.01);(2)Compared with the control group, the hip abduction, abduction and extension, knee flexion and extension of the left and right sides on the football training college students significantly increased respectively(P<0.01);(3)Compared with the control group, the ankle muscle strength of football training college students increased significantly(P<0.01);(4)Comparison of their left and right sides by themselves, their left and right lower extremity muscle mass, hip abduction, abduction and extension, knee strength and ankle strength were not significantly changed on football training male college students(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)Football training can significantly increase the lower limb muscle mass of male college students, and the left and right sides increase in a balanced manner, which is helpful to improve the lower limb muscle strength;(2)football training can significantly increase the static muscle strength of male college students and develop the balance of left and right sides;(3)football training can significantly increase the ankle muscle strength of male college students.
