As a new high-tech means,virtual reality technology has developed rapidly,and now it also shows application advantages in basic education.Under the background of the development of information age,the requirement of high school geography curriculum reform and the construction of high-quality teaching resources,the use of virtual reality teaching resources has attracted the attention of the educational circles.The application of virtual reality teaching resources in high school geography class can make geography teaching vivid,and promote the reform of geography teaching.Based on the theory of Situational Cognition and virtual reality,this paper takes literature research and case design as the main research methods.This paper uses the method of literature research to sort out the relevant concepts of virtual reality teaching resources,analyzes the application advantages of high school geography virtual reality teaching resources,and then puts forward the application principles,namely,the principle of practicality,the principle of moderation,the principle of interaction.This paper uses case design method to design the application case of "the formation process of the Pacific ocean current system in the northern hemisphere" in combination with the geography teaching content of senior high school,so that the virtual reality teaching resources of senior high school geography can be applied scientifically.This study got the following conclusions:(1)the feasibility of virtual reality teaching resources in high school geography teaching was verified by questionnaire survey.(2)Combined with high school geography teaching content and virtual reality teaching resources,this paper defines the applicable content in teaching materials,and then analyzes and selects the applicable scope of teaching content.(3)In the teachingcase design,the design process and specific teaching design of the application of virtual reality teaching resources in geography teaching in senior high school are described.The innovation of this study: first,the establishment of the application standards of high school geography virtual reality teaching resources,that is,what characteristics of geography knowledge can use virtual reality teaching resources,analyze and select the applicable teaching content categories of high school geography virtual reality teaching resources.The second is to adopt the case design method,according to the application principle of high school geography virtual reality teaching resources,summarize the design process and design the application cases.
