As an emerging technology,Somatosensory Interaction Technology has attracted much attention in the field of assessment of special children. The purpose of study is to verify the effectiveness of Somatosensory Interaction Technology in assessing and comparing the working memory and processing speed of children with mild intellectual disability(MID),explore other factors related to the results, and investigate children's satisfaction with the somatosensory assessment tasks through interviews. In this study,3 somatosensory interactive assessment tasks(Somatosensory Shape Coding,Somatosensory Color Coding, and Somatosensory Memory)and related tasks in WISC-?(Digit Span,Letter-Number Sequencing,Coding,Symbol Search)are utilized to assess 50 children aged 8.5-18(35 male and 15 female)with MID.The results show that:(1)The criterion validity of somatosensory assessment task is high. The Correct, missed, error rate, reaction time and score of those tasks are sensitive index to assess working memory and processing speed respectively.(2)There is a high degree of internal consistency between somatosensory task indicators.Different tasks are independent of each other and have different focuses. They can reflect the development levels of different dimensions, providing multi-angle assessment information.(3)Somatosensory interactive assessment tasks can effectively reflect the difference among the subjects.Children with MID have gender differences in the Shape Coding.Children wirh MID at different ages and different IQ levels have significant or extremely significant differences in assessment results.(4)The results of somatosensory interactive assessment tasks are highly correlated with non-intelligence factors. The motor skills of upper limbs, especially the coordination of movements,is related to the performance of the somatosensory interactive assessment tasks.Children's engagement, concentration levels and emotional state during the tasks are also correlated with their assessment performance in varying degrees. The correlation between concentration levels and assessment results is the highest.(5)Somatosensory interactive assessment is favored by children with MID.Highly interactive, timely feedback, low difficult and the novel forms are important reason why child like it.Therefore, the Somatosensory Interaction Technology is feasible and effective in the evaluation of working memory and processing speed of children with MID.Each index has good criterion validity, internal consistency and discrimination, and has received positive feedback. The technology can be used as an evaluation tool for children with MID.
