The content of geometry is the most important and difficult point in mathematics,and its teaching has been studied by the majority of mathematics educators.At present,there are still many deficiencies and difficulties in the teaching of geometric content.How to make up for the deficiencies and overcome the difficulties through scientific and reasonable teaching is a problem we should pay attention to.Scientific and effective geometry teaching can improve students' level of geometric thinking.In the study of the teaching of geometry,the Fan Hills and his wife have made great contributions.After continuous practice and research,they proposed the Fan Hill theory,which divided the students' geometric thinking level into five levels,and according to different levels of geometry At the level of thinking,the corresponding geometry teaching stages are proposed to guide teachers in teaching.So far,many scholars have applied Fan Hill's theory to geometry teaching and achieved good teaching results.The author takes the second chapter of the eighth grade of the Human Education Edition "Congruent Triangle" as the carrier and conducts research on the following questions: 1.What level does the geometric thinking level of the eighth grade students reach? 2.How to use Van Hill's theory to guide junior middle school geometry teaching? 3.Does Fanhill's theory help the junior high school students to improve their geometric thinking level? First of all,the author supports practical research by consulting literatures and books and accumulating certain theoretical knowledge.Next,in the internship stage,the author takes the students in the eighth grade of a middle school in Nanchang as the research object to analyze the current situation and problems in the junior middle school geometry teaching.Then,the author researches and analyzes the textbook.Under the guidance of Van Hill's theory,he designs the content of the chapter "Congruent Triangles".Before and after the experiment,he uses the geometric thinking level test paper to test the students' geometric thinking level.Finally,by comparing and analyzing the measured data before and after the experimental group and the control group,and before and after the interest of the two classes in the experimental group,the effect of Fan Hill's theory on the level of geometric thinking of the students was verified.The research results show that Van Hill's theory can effectively guide geometryteaching,and teachers can better understand students' geometric thinking level.Compared with the traditional teaching mode,the teaching under the guidance of Van Hill's theory is more conducive to the development of students 'level of geometric thinking,and it is conducive to cultivating students' interest in studying geometry.
