With the rapid development of the modern society,cultivating students' core literacy has become the major issue in the curriculum reform.This paper,based on the high school mathematics knowledge,focused on the training of the high school students' mathematics core literacy from the perspective of process teaching.The present study first provides the definitions of the relevant concepts by reviewing the previous studies.A qualitative research was then carried out on the situations of mathematics core literacy in senior high school and the major finds are as follow: Students' ability in mathematical abstraction and operation are better than that in visual imagination and logical reasoning;the performances on the mathematical modeling and data processing vary among students.Overall,most students' mathematical core literacy remains improved and more emphasis should go to the training of mathematics core accomplishment.Besides the qualitative research,this paper also adopts a questionnaire survey to explore the present situations in the high school classroom teaching.The results show that,while most teachers realize the importance of "mathematical process",they cannot really put it into practice due to some uncontrollable factors.Drawing upon the “process teaching”,this study,based on several case studies,discusses the following issues associated with the cultivation of mathematics core literacy in senior high schools:(1)The embodiment and value of mathematical core literacy in three types of courses: mathematical concept,mathematical proposition and mathematical problem solving;(2)The discussion and implementation of the teaching strategies to enhance the high school students' mathematics core literacy;(3)The effectiveness of the teaching strategies applied in the teaching practice.
