The native language is the foundation and bond of an important culture of a country and nation.It is part of human language and culture and is also considered to be the most important social tool.The native language curriculum at the elementary school level takes into account the basic and comprehensive nature,and its specific content setting and implementation directly relate to the future development of the core values and literacy of the Chinese language and culture.The native language education in China has a long history and has been improving.At the end of 2017,the Ministry of Education promulgated the latest Chinese language curriculum standards for high school,and the compulsory education phase is about to be revised.Canada 's education in British Columbia has always enjoyed a global reputation.BC 's native language education has been particularly successful,and British Columbia has reformed its basic education curriculum in 2016,promulgating a new standard for native language courses,namely Area of Learning: English Language Arts for Kindergarten to Grade 9.It represents the direction of BC' s current curriculum reform and is of great significance for revising the curriculum standards for Chinese language education in primary schools.This thesis uses the literature research method and the comparative method to study the native language curriculum in primary schools in British Columbia,Canada,and sorts out the development of native language curriculum in primary schools in the two countries.It consists of five chapters.The opening chapter is the introduction of this article,explaining the research purpose,content and significance,a review of Chinese and foreign literature,the definition of core concepts,and clarifying research ideas and methods.The second chapter describes the background of the new round of curriculum reform in the basic education stage of British Columbia,and also briefly introduces the basic information and the basic information of the native language of British Columbia after the reform.The third chapter is the core content of the dissertation.It makes a detailed study of the current situation of primary school native language courses in British Columbia from the four aspects of objectives,content,implementation and evaluation.The fourth Chapter summarizes the characteristics of native language courses in BC' s primary schools.The last chapter is based on the current situation of the development of the Chinese language curriculum in primary schools in China,describes the existing problems,and then puts forward the enlightenment and suggestions of BC' s primary school native language education in China.Curriculum is the core link of educational practice.Comparing our native language curriculum in primary schools in China and British Columbia will allow us to better grasp the essence of native language education,and to provide some universal and operable inspirations and suggestions for revising the standards of our country' s primary language courses.
