The "whole-book reading" is in the process of specialization as a course,while during the transformation we should face and overcome its weak-point in testing and assessment.The IBDP course,which enjoys high international acceptance,focuses on reading appreciation,combing and exploration of the whole-book reading,and its advantages in reliability,validity and system maturity,could be the model to be learnt from.This thesis interprets analyzes the assessment objectives,process and the official programmatic documents of the IBDP course,combining with the analysis and statistical classification of the testing paper that the IBDP Chinese A course published in the past 15 years.During the process of exploring the merits of the IBDP course system,we could find useful experience to develop the testing and assessment for the "whole-book reading" course in China until it finally realizes the role of motivation,diagnosis,guidance and regulation.The second chapter focuses on the characteristics of the IBDP Chinese A course and its assessment system,analyzing the fundamental factors of its high reliability and efficiency.After that,the most enlightening content in the assessment of reading ability is refined in the third chapter by further interpretation of the comparison-reading tasks in the writing evaluation Paper II,the proposition idea which integrates reading and in the Written Assessment,the performance assessment standard of the Individual Oral presentation,and the questioning strategies in the process assessment of the Individual Oral Commentary.The fourth chapter look back to the further development of testing and assessment in China.The paper test should grasp the key elements of the whole-book reading.The questions should focus on the integration of ability instead of the decomposition of knowledge to.Attention should be paid to the contextualization so that we could enhance student's awareness of task-learning and speculative learning problem,and promote learning to the level of application.The reading methodology should be included into the test scope.In terms of the construction of evaluation criteria,it can be combined with the summative evaluation and the process evaluation;oral comment activities with vary forms could be included in the course and be evaluated in the form of expression;we could,to some extent,try to use the PTA scale during the marking and oral activities in the learning process.
