At present,the importance of education,talent and science and technology is becoming increasingly obvious,and universities are facing higher requirements.Recently held national education conference proposed to constantly improve the treatment of teachers,so that the majority of teachers to ease teaching,enthusiastic teaching.The author of this paper finds that the level of treatment can guarantee the overall achievements of universities,but the fairness of salary also has a significant impact.This study starts from the perspective of the salary fairness of the teaching staff in universities,and introduces the engagement as the intermediary variable to study the relationship between the salary fairness,engagement and work performance in universities.This study used literature research,investigation research,empirical research and other research methods.A total of 300 valid questionnaires were collected in the formal survey and the results were analyzed.Including salary fairness,engagement,reliability and validity of work performance scale and homology variance test.SPSS and AMOS statistical software were used to conduct empirical analysis on the reliability,validity,correlation and regression of data,and the relationship model between salary fairness,engagement and work performance was verified.This study draws the following conclusions :(1)there is a significant positive correlation between salary equity and work performance;(2)there is a significant positive correlation between salary fairness and engagement;(3)there is a significant positive correlation between work performance and engagement;(4)engagement is an important pre-dependent variable of work performance and plays an intermediary role between salary equity and work performance.This study shows that,if universities can strengthen the compensation fairness to the faculty and staff,which is conducive to enhancing the employee's engagement,the work performance of the faculty and staff of the university will be improved to a greater extent.
