The aim of science curriculum in primary school is to cultivate students' scientific literacy,but the effect of traditional science teaching method in primary school is not ideal,so it needs to be reformed urgently.With the promotion of STEM education and the promulgation of NGSS in the United States,the view that science and engineering practice is the main way to learn science has gradually been concerned by scholars all over the world.The cross-disciplinary integration of science and engineering provides a new direction for the teaching and research of science education in primary school in China.The integrated education of science and engineering emphasizes the practical links of teaching,and guides students to explore scientific knowledge and carry out engineering practice by hands-on experiments,so that students can use their scientific knowledge as "small engineers" and design them with divergent thinking and hand-brain to solve practical problems.The aim is to improve students' scientific literacy in an all-round way and conform to the new curriculum reform and the new curriculum standard.Through consulting the relevant literature,it is found that there are few studies on the integration of science and engineering by Chinese scholars,and there are few studies on science teaching in primary school from this perspective.The principles and contents of teaching design have not been systematically put forward,and the effect of practical application has not been investigated.Therefore,the author carries out the primary school science teaching design and application research from the perspective of integration of science and engineering,in order to achieve the goal of improving students' scientific literacy.Firstly,this paper briefly describes the research status of science and engineering integration at home and abroad and the theoretical basis of science teaching in primary school from the perspective of science and engineering integration.Secondly,this paper studies the teaching effect and existing problems under the current primary school science teaching mode through questionnaire survey.Based on the analysis of the necessity and feasibility of primary school science teaching from the perspective of integration of science and engineering,it puts forward the principles of primary school science teaching design from the perspective of integration of science and engineering,and constructs the content of teaching design,which is based on the textbook "A Bridge Made of Paper" as an example of teaching design.Thirdly,the experimental research method is used to compare the two classes which adopt the integrated teaching method of science and engineering with the traditional teaching method.Then,the survey data are sorted out and analyzed by questionnaire survey and data statistics,which verifies the effect of science teaching in primary schools from the perspective of integration of science and engineering,and can improve students' scientific literacy as a whole.Finally,it summarizes and prospects,and puts forward suggestions for primary school science teaching design from the perspective of integration of science and engineering.This topic provides an effective way for the reform of science teaching in primary school under the new curriculum reform,enriches the theory of science teaching in primary schools from the perspective of integration of science and engineering,and makes up for the gaps in teaching practice.The principles and contents of instructional design,teaching experience and suggestions of instructional design can provide some references for front-line science teachers to integrate engineering in science teaching.
