Study On Zhu Zi's Family Maxims And Its Moral Significance

Zhu Zi's Family Maxims was written by Zhu Bolu,a famous Confucian,philosopher,and educator from the late Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty.The full text is only 522 words and 54 sentences,with family moral education as the main content.Zhu Zi's Family Maxims is not only the motto of Zhu Bolu's motto for educating future generations and disciples,but also the core of Zhu Bolu's thought.Zhu Bolu was deeply influenced by Confucianism throughout his life,especially by the influence of Song and Ming Confucianism.He vigorously inherited Confucianism and advocated the concept of unity of knowledge and action.Although the full text is short,every sentence in the text reflects Zhu Bolu's moral education thought,which is rich in content and thought-provoking.The thesis first analyzes the background of the Zhu Zi's Family Maxim,starting from Zhu Bolu's life course and related writings,combined with the background of the times,to grasp the main source of his ideas.Secondly,the thesis focuses on analyzing the moral education ideas contained in Zhu Zi's Family Maxims from nine aspects,including self-cultivation,housekeeping,reading,ethics,life,making friends,being an official,sacrifice,and environmental protection.Intrinsic connection with contemporary moral education construction.Finally,it analyzes the historical influence of Zhu Zi's Family Maxims and its inspiration to contemporary moral education.In contemporary society,phenomena such as moral decline and moral misconduct are common occurrences.To this end,it is necessary to draw on the moral education thoughts in Zhu Zi's Family Maxims in the moral education process of family,school and society.Compared with other family mottos in ancient China,Zhu Zi's Family Maxims also has its own particularities and limitations.Due to the limitations of the time background and social geographic conditions,the Zhu Zi's Family Maxim contains the thoughts of male superiority and female inferiority,and the idea of obeying the fate of "observing the fate and keeping the order,listening to the heavens in time" also has limitations.Therefore,when we face the ancient family motto culture,it isnecessary to learn and inherit the ancient family motto culture from a dialectical point of view,so as to benefit from contemporary moral construction.
