Research travel is a new way of education in recent years,which is organized by the school and participated by the students.It is an out of school investigation activity that combines research learning and travel experience with the main purpose of learning knowledge,understanding society and cultivating personality.It has attracted the full attention of the society and the school.But at present,there are still some deficiencies in the empirical research on the local characteristic research travel activities.Therefore,this study focuses on exploring the development strategy of primary school research and learning travel activities based on Sichuan characteristic base,based on Dewey's theory of "learning by doing",students from some primary schools in Chengdu were selected to investigate their participation through questionnaires,which is ‘Questionnaire on the current situation of research travel in primary school from grade 4 to grade 6'.Interview with teachers of sample schools and some staff of research travel base with Sichuan characteristics.To understand the teachers' cognitive attitude,content,form,problems and solutions in the current research travel activities with Sichuan characteristics in primary schools.Interview with the staff of the research and study travel base,understand the activity planning and organization,development strategy,implementation effect and existing problems of Sichuan characteristic research and learning travel base.According to the current situation,analyze the causes of the problems and put forward the corresponding strategies,in order to promote the effective development of research travel activities with Sichuan characteristics.According to the survey results,students have a low level of cognition about the research travel activities with Sichuan characteristics,and a low level of understanding about the research travel activities with Sichuan characteristics.In the research of travel activities,most of the students have a high degree of participation,but there is still a problem that the initiative is not strong enough in the process of activities.Students' satisfaction with research travel is in the lower middle level.The high expectation of middle school students for teachers in the activity also reflects that the performance of teachers does not meet the expectation of students.There is no gender difference in all dimensions of students' study travel,only grade difference.The interview results show that the research travel with Sichuan characteristics has not formed a system,is carried out together with other activities,and some school research travel activities have not been included in the teaching plan and other issues.There are some problems in the planning and organization of research travel activities,such as fuzzy concept of subsection design and less involvement of the school,there are some problems in the implementation process,such as difficult process execution and difficult organization,There are some problems in the form and effect of activities,such as no innovation in the form and no obvious features.Based on the survey and interview results,the following suggestions are put forward: First,educators should improve the design and management.Including improving activity design,building a complete activity,strengthening management,and promoting the reasonable development of activities.Second,the society and the base provide effective guarantee and enhance the development awareness.Including the relevant government departments to provide effective protection;Sichuan characteristic base needs effective development and rational utilization of resources.
