At present,economic globalization is developing rapidly,international exchanges are increasing,and the number of international students applying to study in China is also growing.Therefore,it is of considerable significance to deeply explore the cross-cultural adaptation of international students.This article is based on sociocultural adaptation.Psychological adaptation theory of Colleen Ward and others and the communication mode and classification form of William Gudykunst's,and the questionnaire is distributed through the WeChat network platform,Using qualitative and quantitative methods for analysis,aiming at observing the status of international students' academic,psychological and social adaptation in Chinese universities,exploring the interrelationships between academic adaptation,psychological adaptation,and cross-cultural adaptation.To thoughtful suggestions for specific problems of non-adaptation.The research results show that: in terms of academic adaptation,international students have better adaptability,but there are some difficulties in understanding the teaching content of teachers in class;in terms of social and cultural adaptation,international students have weak social and cultural adaptability,and some countries may The international students in the region are difficult to adapt to the unified work schedule of the study place due to diet culture and unique festivals or ethnic habits during fasting;in terms of psychological adaptation,according to the mental health 16 PF scale,the international students' knowledge,affection,and behavior are evaluated,and some International students have difficulties in psychological adjustment,which are manifested as loneliness,poor sleep,and missing their loved ones.Through the analysis of questionnaire survey data,this article believes that the academic pursuit of international students,newly established interpersonal relationships,communication forms,and religious beliefs has excellent relevance to cross-cultural adaptation.Whether they have relevant cultural knowledge reserves in the position of study is also an essential factor.The quantitative research results show that social and cultural adaptation,psychological adaptation,and academic adaptation are positively correlated.Based on the above survey and analysis,based on the cultural and psychological problems of international students' weak adaption during their study in China,it is proposed that university administrators,on the one hand,need to understand the living habits and religious beliefs of international students and give more attention to international students Social support and care;on the other hand,add cross-cultural training organizations to understand Chinese culture,Chinese system,and management characteristics through language training and social culture training,help international students adapt to local Chinese life and university campus cultural life as soon as possible,and improve the quality of international students Social and cultural adaptation and psychological adaptation,thereby promoting the academic adaptation of international students themselves,and ensuring that international students complete their studies.
