Qualitative Research On The Demand And Motivation Of Pupils' Families For Education Live Broadcast

As a new form of extra-curricular tutoring,education live broadcast not only breaks the restriction of time and space for substantive education,but also fully restores the authenticity and interaction of substantive classroom,which has been sought after by more and more families.Based on the analysis of literature,this study interviewed 16 parents who came from six cities with different levels of economic development in Guangdong.With the methods of generic analysis,this study is to get a better understanding of the demand of pupils' families for education live broadcast and the reasons behind the demand.The study found that there was heterogeneity in the demands of primary school pupils' families for education live broadcast,curriculum content,class type,effectiveness,teacher's role,and academic and teaching evaluation: 1.Primary school students' families have different overall demands for education live broadcast;2.Families in first-tier cities mainly take offline tutoring,supplemented by live education tutoring.Families in third and fourth tier cities have a strong demand for education live broadcast.2.The content of the course mainly involves language training,thinking training and discipline guidance.There is a strong demand for live classes of language and mathematical thinking in the families of junior students.Senior primary school students' families have a strong demand for live classes of school discipline guidance.3.Students' age,learning content and family economic conditions all affect the type of classes families choose for their children.4.Parents of top students,middle and poor students have different demands on the effect of live broadcasting.Families of top students hope to improve their children's interest and confidence through live broadcasting.The families of middle and poor students pay more attention to the practical results of learning.5,the family of the demand of teachers role for learning goals and content,some pupils families hope teacher can stimulate the learning interest of the child,some respondents expressed the hope that teachers can inspire thinking,develop thinking,families with entrance motivation hope teachers at inductive topic,summarizes techniques,choose live class parents generally hope the teacher in charge can provide a full range of services.6.Families have similar demands for academic and teaching evaluation,and strong demands for teacher-student two-way evaluation mechanism.Other interviewees said that they would not consider choosing live education for their children for the time being,for different reasons,some parents are worried about affecting their children's eyesight,some parents do not trust the quality of live education,and some parents think that they do not want to put too much pressure on their children by giving them too much after-school tutoring.The main reasons behind the demand for live broadcast of education by primary school students' families are as follows: the shortage of supplementary school education;Pursuing high-quality educational resources;Save time and money cost;"You can't lose at the starting line";Teaching students according to their aptitude;Peer effects,etc.Through interviews,this study also found that some families have inaccurate cognition of educational live broadcasting,and they tend to follow blindly when choosing educational live broadcasting.Some live broadcasting agencies meet the needs of families,but the quality of each live broadcasting agency varies;The supervision of educational live broadcasting institutions by educational authorities lags behind.The research draws the following conclusions: students from third-tier or fourth-tier cities have strong demand for education live broadcast,and to a certain extent,the education live broadcast has made up for the shortage of mainstream education,and has satisfied the urgent demand of high quality resources for students in third-tier or fourth-tier cities,at the same time,it has satisfied students' individualized learning needs.However,the live broadcast of education on the market still suffers from serious problems such as homogenization of courses,imperfect evaluation system,and uneven level of teachers.Some parents have a blind mentality when choosing education live broadcast.This study puts forward the following suggestions for the problems of live education broadcast: live education institutions should improve their teachers and establish high-quality teacher teams;strengthen the construction of high-quality courses on the platform,set up courses with different levels of difficulty system,expand the field of live education courses,optimize the course design,focus on stimulating learners' interest in learning,cultivate students' independent learning ability,and strengthen quality education;the government should strengthen the supervision of online tutoring institutions,so that online education institutions can develop orderly and healthily;parents should treat education live broadcast rationally,,and children's growth and development cannot be separated from their parents' company and good family education.Learning achievement is important,but children's physical and mental health development is more important.If it is really necessary to choose extra-curricular supplementary courses such as live education,we should choose suitable live courses for our children according to their actual situation.In view of the gap between the demand of primary school students' families for education live broadcasting and the current situation of education live broadcasting,this study puts forward the following Suggestions: parents should treat the effect of education live broadcasting rationally,choose live broadcasting courses reasonably according to the actual situation of children when necessary,and more importantly,provide high-quality company and good family education for children.Educational live broadcasting institutions should improve their faculty and establish high-quality faculty.Strengthen the construction of high-quality courses,set up courses with different levels of difficulty system,expand the field of live courses,optimize the course design;Attention should be paid to stimulating learners' interest,cultivating students' independent learning ability and strengthening quality-oriented education.The government should strengthen the supervision of online tutoring institutions so that online education institutions can develop in an orderly and healthy way.
