Research On The Influence Of Social Media On The Political Socialization Of College Students And Countermeasures

In accordance with the 44 th “Statistical Report Internet Development China”,as of June 2019,China has 854 million Internet users,and college students make up the majority.With the rapid development of Internet social media,most college students have become fans of various social media.However,as college students are preparing to enter the society,they are in a critical period of forming political views.The massive amount of information in social media and the uneven quality of information pose new challenges to strengthening college students' ideological and political education and continuously improving their political socialization level.This paper takes social media as the starting point,and then closely links social media with the political socialization of college students,aiming at analyzing the influence of social media on the political socialization of college students more comprehensively and objectively.The author first established the theoretical basis by consulting relevant literature.Secondly,the author clarifies the concept and relationship between social media and political socialization of college students,and points out that social media provides a new field for political socialization of college students.The degree of political socialization of college students affects the level of use of social media.Then,the questionnaire was distributed to the college students and the data information was collected.In addition,the related contents were known through interviews.Finally,in accordance with 786 collected data and interview results,the current situation of political socialization of college students in social media is sorted out.The study found that college students use a wide range of social media types,and common social media are involved.On the other hand,college students like Weibo,Wechat,QQ,Bilibili,Tik Tok and Zhihu to a high degree and are highly dependent on them.They use these media software mainly for obtaining information,social communication and entertainment.Therefore,we can conclude that social media has become an important part of college students' daily life.The influence of social media on the political socialization of college students is a double-edged sword,which is mainly reflected in the positive and negative influences on college students' political cognition,political attitude,political emotion and political behavior.In terms of political cognition,social media has enhanced the attention of college students to political information,expanded the channels for college students to contact political information,and facilitated college students to understand political information.On the other hand,the mixed social media information tends to blur the political cognition of college students.For example,the social media's group nature tends to lead to the passive acceptance of college students' political knowledge,and the fragmentation of social media information tends to make the political cognition of college students one-sided.In terms of political attitude,the widespread dissemination of correct political information is conducive to promoting college students to form a positive political attitude.The dissemination of social media information at major time nodes is conducive to enhancing college students' political sense of mission.In addition,extensive and in-depth social media information interaction is conducive to enhancing college students' political identity.However,at the same time,the connectivity and virtuality of social media easily lead college students to pay no attention to politics.Bad information of social media tends to lead to narrow political views of college students.Anonymity of social media is not conducive to shaping correct political values of college students.In terms of political emotion,the personalization of social media provides college students with a wide range of channels to express political emotion.The group interaction of social media is helpful to stimulate the positive political emotion of college students.The diversity of information in social media is helpful to cultivate the rational political emotion of college students,but at the same time,the individuation of social media easily leads to the utilitarianism of political emotion of college students.Overload of social media information tends to reduce the attention of college students to political activities,and closure of social media information tends to lead to extreme political emotions of college students.In terms of political behavior,social media enriches the channels for college students to participate in politics,makes college students' political participation self-conscious and active,and diversifies the forms of political behavior.However,at the same time,miscellaneous social media information tends to cause college students' political participation to be emotional.Being addicted to social media tends to cause college students to ignore political participation in real society,and fragmented information of social media tends to cause college students' political behavior to be limited.In accordance with the survey results and current situation,this paper puts forward the countermeasures to promote the healthy development of college students' political socialization from three aspects: first,make good use of social media to enrich the ideological and political education in colleges and universities,that is,make use of social media to innovate the manifestation of ideological and political education concepts and methods in colleges and universities,make good use of social media to innovate the carrier of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,and give full play to the function of social media to innovate the interactive mechanism of ideological and political education in colleges and universities;Second,purify the social media environment.To provide a good space for the political socialization of college students,it is necessary to speed up the national legislative work,improve the legal system construction,enhance the network supervision technology,improve the cooperative governance mechanism,strengthen social publicity and education,and give full play to internet users' supervision.Third,improve social media literacy and enhance the subjective initiative of college students' political socialization: namely,improve their ability to select social media information,consciously enhance their political identity and social responsibility,enhance their ability to criticize social media information,resolutely safeguard the safety of network ideology,cultivate their ability to utilize social media information and spread positive mainstream political culture.
