Red culture is the product of the combination of Marxist theory and Chinese historical practice,and is the continuation of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.It contains a large number of material,spiritual and institutional excellent culture,which is the precious cultural wealth of the Chinese nation.As an advanced culture,the red culture is highly valued by the state.In his series of important speeches,general secretary Xi Jinping stressed: "let the flames of belief continue to bear,let the red gene into the blood vessels,and let the red spirit inspire power." Red culture education is a kind of educational activity that educator,according to the educational purpose,takes red culture as the educational content,guides the educate with certain carrier and media,forms the identity of red culture,thus forms the correct values,world outlook,political outlook and moral outlook.Red culture education is conducive to strengthening the education of socialist core values and ideals and beliefs in Colleges and universities;enriching the content of Ideological and political education in Colleges and universities,improving the ways and means of Ideological and political education in Colleges and universities;cultivating the personal moral quality of college students and strengthening their cultural self-confidence.Based on the current situation of Red Culture Education,this paper analyzes the existing problems of Red Culture Education and the causes of the problems by summing up the experience of predecessors.In order to improve the effectiveness of red culture education and strengthen the red culture identity of college students,the possibility of applying cultural memory to red culture education is discussed.This article mainly includes four parts,the first part is the introduction.It mainly includes the research background,research significance,research status,research ideas,research methods,research innovation and deficiencies.The second part is an overview of red culture and cultural memory theory.Through to the red culture,the red culture education and the cultural memory theory correlation summary,the third part is the university Red Culture Education present situation.Through years of efforts,the red culture education in colleges and universities has achieved positive results,but there are still some problems such as unbalanced development,formalization problems,and students' sense of identity is not very ideal.These problems are caused by the lack of resources,the lack of systematic educational mechanism and the complexity of the Red Culture identity environment.The fourth part is the relevance between the Red Culture Education and the cultural memory between the content,the process,the main body,the goal and the way,and the application of the cultural memory theory can enhance the thickness of the red culture memory of the university students,the degree of approval and the effectiveness of the redculture education,it provides the possibility for cultural memory to be used in red culture education.The fifth part is the concrete application of cultural memory in the red culture education in colleges and universities.From the medium point of view,we should highlight the cultural memory text,images,places,body media,enhance the appeal and appeal of red culture.From the aspect of education,we should stress the special link of cultural memory and enhance the educational effect of Red Culture.
