The concept of "region",which is an important core concept in geography,is at the center of geography and runs through the whole secondary school.At present,secondary school students are faced with huge and complicated knowledge of many subjects.Without the support of systematic structure,knowledge in their minds presents a fragmented state.Learning progression theory conforms to the objective law of students' cognition of core concepts,and the learning requirements of the concept of "region" in different stages coincide with the learning progression process,which is conducive to the learning of "region" core concepts.As the basic theoretical foundation,combing analysis to study the advanced and the connotation of the core concepts and the research status quo of geography,to regional knowledge,methods,the concept of regional ability and four dimensions as the basement,refer to the geography course standard of academic performance.Prepare for test questionnaire,each study period of student's study present situation research,in order to clear the student internship learning level and advanced level of ideal disparity,core concept of regional geography study advanced the measures are put forward.The study found that secondary school students' regional concept learning level has the following characteristics: On the whole,secondary school students' regional concept learning level gap is small,high school students' regional concept learning level gap is large,secondary school students' "region" learning level increases with the grade,the degree of differentiation increases.From the perspective of dimension,the advanced level of regional knowledge dimension is the best.Most students can achieve the expected academic performance in each academic segment,followed by the dimension of regional method and regional ability.In the dimension of regional concept,most students fail to achieve the expected academic performance in each academic segment in time.In view of the test results of the learning progression level of the concept of "region" and the characteristics of the learning progression level of the concept of "region" of secondary school students,the following teaching countermeasures are proposed:1.Normative concept expression,tamp area knowledge.Teachers should deeply analyze the connotation of the core concept of geography from the perspective of geography,and strengthen students' understanding of the core concept of geography.2.Create a variety of situations,use the region method.In teaching,teachers should create various life situations and strengthen the training of thinking,reasoning and generalization.3.Set up ladder problems to improve regional capabilities.The teacher should organize the teaching according to the ladder problems at the starting point of learning progression,and construct a new teaching situation from easy to difficult and from simple to complex in time.4.Grasp the key to advance and cultivate the regional concept.Teachers should grasp the difficulty of regional concept progression and help students to form a complete regional cognitive system so as to improve the overall level of learning in all dimensions of the region.
