| Regional geography has always been the core content of the secondary geography education; however, the status quo of teaching regional geography is unsatisfactory. It is essential for students to obtain the skill to build a meaningful and suitable knowledge-net in the regional geography learning, which based on the learning experience. Under the influence of the international Geography education, sector of China's geography education cooperate sincerely introducing some new and successful experience from the international community, such as the concept map. Concept map can be applied to organize and manage the teaching procedure, to build knowledge framework and learning methods of regional geography, and to help teacher know students'misconception and thinking way. This study attempts to investigate the development of the concept maps in the geography discipline from the following aspects:First, the researcher based on reading lots of references made some analysis of the fitness between concept maps and the geographic discipline with the comprehensive, regional, and spatial view of geography, and the necessity of the application of concept maps on the teaching of regional geography, and indicated following points: Concept map can be applied to show the comprehensiveness of regional geography, to demonstrate the locality of regional geography, and to highlight the spatiality of regional geography. Meanwhile, concept maps also can be used to sort out regional geographic content, and to make the evaluation of regional geography learning, etc.Secondly, the researcher collected data about the application of concept maps in regional geography teaching by questionnaires, interviews, references and other research methods, and attempted to find out problems and difficulties in application of concept maps in the regional geography teaching in secondary school, and laid the foundation for the strategies of using concept maps in the regional geography.Finally, the researcher attempted to put forward the strategies and precautions of application of concept maps integrating the regional geography teaching in secondary schools, such as highlighting the regional characteristics and showing the geographical distribution of geography matters by using the concept map integrating the geographical elements, and constructing cognitive structure of regional geography, etc. |
