Recently number sense and number sense teaching are popular problems of mathmatics teaching research in home and overseas.There are five sections of this paper.In Section 1.we introduce mostly the background of research.as has been emphasized in the literature in home and overseas. the author divides the cognition of number sense into four parts:firstly.number sense is a sense of number;secondly,number sense is a numerical sense which emphasizes the nature of rapid response for number communication machining by intuition and unconsciousness;thirdly.number sense is a kind of mental skill for mathmatics;finally. number sense is a kind of ability.Section 2 takes apart the essence of number sense in the educational theory of mathmatics. the psychology.thinking elements for number sense forming. as well as the meaning of number sense training to middle school students.From educational theory of mathmatics. number sense has made bridge between mathmatics and realistic relation;it is a kind of basic maths accomplishment of people;number sense is the foundation of mathmatics activity and a kind of significant mathmatics skill. Mathmatics specialization is the theoretical gist to number sense advanced.From psychology and thinking elements: maths knowledge isprecondition for number sense's coming into being;abstractly logic thinking and intuition thinking are presupposition for number sense's forming;visual thinking is the essence behaving for number sense making effect.The meaning of number sense training: theoretically, it is an aspect for establishing number sense to learn "Mathmatics specialization" thought. Number sense training contributes to establish maths knowledge for students themselves;realistically, number sense training answered social development needs and in favor of developing innovative spirit and practice ability possessed by students.In Section 3. we talk about survey and analysis on number sense actuality of Middle school students. The survey was made mostly by a mode of questionnaire combined with observational methods and interview. The questionnaire designed on the ground of the primary presentation of number sense by the standard.Thiough survey.we find there are several problems for number sense training as follows:number sense training has broken the living circumstances;traditional teaching concept limits communication, and checks the thinking development of students;the teacher emphasizes excessively the knowledge initiating and skill mastering while ignoring the training for their makings of ability;imitating excessively which has affected student's advance in maths ability.Section 4 & 5 are related to the strategy research for number sense and some thought of number sense training. As been a kind of inner-obscure.unstructural program knowledge, number sense isn't established in an action, we should take measures in teaching as follows: establish the number sense in the life experience;change the concept of teaching philosophy and form the number sense in the expression and communication;stress "double base" and develop the number sense in the comparison and estimation;treate correctly repeated exercise,variant teaching and sublimate the number sense in solving problems. At the same time,we should pay attention in the teaching: the transformation to mathematics teaching idea is a key to number sense training;we should help the students understand application value for number sense from various ways;let the student further develop the number sense in the exchange of mathematical linguistics and daily language .
