This thesis takes 16 students of class A,grade 6 of Huaming school in Phnom Penh,Cambodia,as the research object.With the literature research and investigation,it analyzes the types and causes of the errors in the acquisition of Chinese tones by Cambodian students through listening and reading tests,and puts forward specific and effective teaching countermeasures according to the types and causes of the errors,so as to help Cambodian students learn Chinese well.At the same time,it also provides some suggestions for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Cambodia.This thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which points out the reason and purpose of this thesis,reviews the research status and summarizes the previous research results,and explains the research methods.The second chapter is the survey of errors in the acquisition of Chinese tones by Cambodian students,pointing out the object,content,process and result of the investigation.The third chapter is the analysis of errors,which is the main part of this thesis.Based on the data of the results of listening and reading tests,this thesis analyzes the errors of Chinese four tones in monosyllabic words,disyllabic words and short sentences.It shows that:(1)The errorsin the acquisition of Chinese tones are common for Cambodian students.(2)It is more difficult for Cambodian students to acquire Yin Ping and Shang Sheng,but easier to acquire Yang Ping and Qu Sheng.Yin Ping is more biased to Qusheng,shangsheng is more biased to Yangping,Yangping is more biased to shangsheng or Qusheng,while Qusheng is more biased to Yinping or Yangping.(3)Cambodian students do well in the tones of monosyllabic words,but there are more errors in disyllabic words and short sentences.The fourth chapter is the cause of the errors.In view of Cambodian students' errors in the acquisition of Chinese tones,the general causes,the specific causes,and the causes of errors in disyllabic words and sentences are summarized.The fifth chapter provides some countermeasures for teaching Chinese tones.In view of the expression and causes of Cambodian students' errors in Chinese tones,it is suggested that teachers should enhance the professionalism of tone teaching,pay more attention to the primary stage of tone teaching,focus on the disyllabic words,and carry out tone teaching in the language flow.
