The World Health Organization estimates that the number of people with depression in different age groups is 322 million,while in China,nearly 54 million are suffering from depression.The number of people suffering from depression is growing,and overall,one out of every 10 individuals in the world has experienced at least one major depression in their lifetimes.The increase in data on depression is relative to the public's little knowledge of depression,in which the mass media's spread of health information about depression is particularly important.This article mainly uses the content analysis method and the text analysis method,based on the health dissemination domain,analyzes the domestic two representative newspaper media regarding the Depression the report condition,hoped can reveal the depressive patient's media image characteristic,and discovers the media in the report process the problem.Through the study found that the current Chinese newspaper media does not pay enough attention to the issue of depression,depression and its patients mainly stay in the message of this level,the layout of the social version and health version of the main source of authority to occupy the lead,the general patient discourse right missing.The tendency of the media in the Depression-related reports will affect the audience's perception of depression,and even create misunderstandings and prejudices,creating stereotypes.In addition,due to the media in the process of excessive emphasis on the tragic results,did not really understand the heart of the patient,and thus lack of human concern for depression patients.Overall,the media for depression and its patients reported a certain deviation,not comprehensive,in-depth coverage of depression and its patients with information,failed to give full play to the media environmental monitoring function,the existence of the public to the depression patients with negative cognitive situation.
