Abstract/Summary:
With the development of mobile internet and Internet of Things,the wireless network environment presents a variety of wireless communication protocols coexistence currently.For example,Zigbee is widely used in smart homes,industrial control,agricultural production,environment and medical monitoring and other fields for its low power,low cost,and flexible ways of forming network;WiFi is widely applied for devices interconnection and devices accessing the Internet,which has high speed and wide coverage.Heterogeneity and convergence are the main directions of future wireless communication networks.Aiming at the Zigbee and WiFi coexistence network,a MAC controller for the transmission interface convergence of WIFI and Zigbee Protocols based on FPGA is designed in this thesis.To avoid the interference between Zigbee and WiFi network,the designed MAC controller works either in Zigbee or WiFi mode according to the type of frame to be transmitted.The data tramsmission control of IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11 using the method of contention based CSMA/CA is designed in a loosly coupled architecture;The MAC controller supports the priority-based flow control and the dynamic channel access opportunities adjustment according to priority and channel state.These functions can be configured by the processor on chip.We add the Priority subfield to the MAC frame of the MAC controller.The MAC controller supports the frame encapsulation,transmission,receiving and filter process,the CRC check,the automatic acknowledgement transmission and the automatic frame retransmission function.In this thesis,Verilog HDL is used to describe the design in RTL level.Xilinx xc7z020 FPGA chip and Vivado Design Suit are adopted to simulate and synthesize the MAC controller.The integrated function of MAC controller is verified through a self built loopback test platform with two instanced MAC controllers.The designed controller can be embedded into the SoPC system of Zigbee and WiFi convergence gateway.
