Discourse Analysis Of The Author Group's Text Of FT Chinese.com "B&R" Column

FTChinese.com is the only non-english website of the Financial Times,it aims to provide indispensable daily commercial financial news,in-depth analysis and comments for Chinese business elite and business decision makers.Since the “the Belt and Road”(B&R)column of FTChinese.com came online,it has absorbed authors from various countries and industries and formed an author group.They have made extensive discussion of economic development,the global financial structure,international relations and cultural exchanges under the “B&R” background,and provide a high-quality channel for the audience to understand the “B&R”.This paper aims to research the text discourse of the column's author group and find the national relationship factors of the discourse transformation.The period from September 2013 to December 2017 is selected as the time period of research,and all texts of the core author group are the research samples.Specific research ideas in the article are as follows:In the first part,a stable and prolific author group is selected from 133 authors in the column by data statistics,and it is further divided into domestic authors group and foreign author group.Then,I analyze the author group's structure of the “B&R” column,it includes regional structure,identity structure,educational background,work experience,reporting or research direction,and writing situation.The second part is the core chapter of the thesis.It use Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method to research the author group's discourse from vocabulary selection,transitivity,Continuity and intertextuality.Through year-to-year comparison,we can see the author group's cognition and evaluation of the “B&R”,core concerns,the purpose and tendencies of the construction of discourse and hidden attitude of vagueness.It shows the discourse difference and the change process of the author group at home and abroad to the topic of the “B&R”.Considering the identity background structure of the author group,the third part discusses text discourse of the authors of various countries under the influence of international relationships.On the basis of the results of discourse analysis,It is further discuss the impact of the “golden age” between China and Britain,the pressure of American strategy and speech,the “pro-American diplomacy” in Singapore,the predicament of Hongkong,the cooperation and conflict between China,Pakistan,the United States and India and the role changes of China and Russia in Central Asia.On the basis of the results of the previous discourse analysis,the last part make further discussion on strengthening the international communication of the “B&R” and telling Chinese stories well.It puts forward that the experience of FTChinese.com should be used for strengthening the construction of intercultural communication authors.We should actively promote the media to go out and strive for the right to speak in international communication and respond to the challenge of the international community.Finally,we should pay attention to spread the achievements of the “B&R” on the microcosmic lay for promoting the realization of "people-to-people bond".
