The Study Of Rural Commercial Banks' Efficiency And Its Influence Factors Based On Undesirable Output

In recent years,the economy of our country has made a rapid progress,the comprehensive national strength also enhanced markedly.However,in the process,the imbalance of economic development between urban and rural is becoming more and more significantly,which widen the gap between the poor and rich,finally it will impact on social harmony and stability.Therefore,we must think over how to improve the income level of farmers and promote the economic development in rural areas,which is an urgent problem.As we all known,rural commercial banks plays a decisive role in the process of improving the rural economy level.So it is significance to study the efficiency of the rural commercial banks.Through the empirical study,people can find some problem about rural commercial banks' operation,then,people can take some measures to improve the management ability and the efficiency of the rural commercial banks.Therefore,this thesis choose 17 rural commercial banks as sample,during the study,considering the risk factors and rural commercial banks' dual goals,we decided to use SBM-Undesirable model to measure and calculate the operating efficiency and social efficiency of the banks.Then,we selected some factors that probably affect the banks' efficiency,and made quantitative test on the influencing factors by Tobit model.Finally,this thesis put forward some suggestions according to the results of regression analysis.Through the study we found that:the overall efficiency level of the rural commercial banks is low,the pure technical efficiency of the banks are relatively good,but the scale efficiency performs bad,so we can say that scale inefficiency is the main cause of low efficiency of rural commercial banks.We also found that undesirable output will overestimate the rural commercial banks' efficiency.Finally,according the study of influence factors,this thesis also put forward some suggestions to improve the efficiency of the banks,for example,improving the management level of the banks,learning how to control costs and importing advanced technology etc.
