Apple Growers' Participating Intention Of Policy Agricultural Insurance

As an important mechanism fordispersingmodern agricultural risk,policy agricultural insurance has attracted much attention of Central Document No.1,which has repeatedly proposed to "develop policy agricultural insurancevigorously ","continue to improve insurance coverage and risk protection level for characteristic and advantangeous agricultural products".Unfortunately,the development of policy agricultural insurance is slow.The key to improve implementedefficiency of policy agricultural insurance is improving farmers' pariticipating intention.Many researchers explore the factors that restrictfarmers participate in the policy agricultural insurance,from aspects such as individual and family characteristics,operating characteristics,disaster experience,insurance cognition and expectation,risk-taking capacity and so on.However,the attention to farmers' risk perception is not enough.Classical farmers' research shows thatfarmers' subjective perception of objective risk is the basis to make risk-dispersing decision.In other words,assessing the risk level of farmers' subjective perception helps to measure and identify the effectiveness of farmersinsured intention.This study intends to explore participating intention of policy agricultural insurance based on apple growers' risk perception.To be more specific,standardize the concept of risk perception and participating intention of policy agricultural insurance,sort out the relevant theories by reviewing relevant literatures in Chapter 2;Focus on the construction of risk perception measuring system in Chapter 3,by evaluating dangerous of risk events,vulnerability of risk acceptor and risk perception level,analysis whether the policy agricultural insurance pilot distribution matches apple growers' risk perception level.The research methods are learnt from natural science.The fourth chapter is comparing the difference of participating intention between pilot areas and non-pilot areas,higher risk perception and lower risk perception,finally measure the effectiveness of participating intention of policy agricultural insurance.The fifth chapter analyze the factors influencing apple growers to participate in policy agricultural insurance through correlation analysis and binary logistic model.The last chapter is about conclusions and suggestions.The results show that:(1)risk perception is the benchmarking to measure and evaluate effectiveness of policy agricultural insurance participation,the higher the risk perception level,the higher the participating intention of apple growers;(2)Policy of Agricultural insurance pilot can effectively encourage apple farmers' participating intention.There are more apple growers would like to participate in policy agricultural insurance in pilot areas than in non-pilot areas.(3)The matching between insurance pilot coverage and apple growers' risk perception level is poor.There is no significant difference in apple growers' risk perception level between the pilot and non-pilot areas.
