A Study On The Trade Complementarity And Trade Settlement Between Gansu And The Countries Along The Silk Road

The Silk Road Economic Zone construction aim at forming a new economic development zone based on the ancient Silk Road,strengthening trade and economic cooperation between China and other countries.Gansu is an important transportation hub between the Asia Europe continent and southwest also northwest of China.Give full play to regional advantages and product advantages,deepen trade with the country along the Silk Road and the advantages of cooperation,can help promote economic development in Gansu province.This paper selects 24 countries along the Silk Road in central-west Asia and Europe as samples,selects the import and export data of total 99 Kinds of commodities with HS dibit encoding,and makes a detailed analysis of the trade situation of China,the countries along the border and Gansu province.Secondly,the paper studies the trade complementarities respectively.It focuses on estimating the trade complementarities between China,Gansu and the countries along the Silk Road to explicit key point countries cooperated.Then through the empirical research on the complementarities between products to clear the focus of the cooperation of the product set,determine the direction and path of trade and industrial restructuring in Gansu province.Providing policy proposals for Gansu province to participate in the Silk Road Economic Zone and promote regional economic growth.The results show that China has high complementarity on export and import with West Asian countries,high complementarity on import with India,high complementary on export and import with Asian and European countries.Gansu province has low trade complementarity with the countries along the Silk Road,but high with Tajikistan on import and high with India,Switzerland,and Romania on export.Gansu should strengthen trade cooperation with countries that have high trade complementarity with Gansu.Meanwhile,the trade complementarity among the countries along the Silk Road cannot be neglected.In addition,Gansu should actively optimize its trade structure,give full play to its industrial advantages and expand the trade of Gansu province through the Silk Road.
