A Comparative Study On The Satisfaction Of Residents In Shantytown

Shantytown reconstruction is a major public project in China,which government attaches great importance to.The government has implemented shantytown reconstruction comprehensively since 2005,and we have made remarkable achievements.However,when we are promoting the shantytown,we should pay more attention to improving the satisfaction of residents and protecting the residents of the demand effectively.The satisfaction of residents is one of the important factors which measure the success of project.The conclusions of this research can give reference and guidance for policy-making and program development in the future.On the basis of summarizing the achievements of scholars at home and abroad,from the perspective of resident,this paper proposes residential satisfaction influencing factors model system included "housing situation,service,living environment,surrounding facilities,location conditions and reconstruction process" combined with the actual situation of shantytowns in China.And a total of 619 valid field survey questionnaires(276 in Yichang and 243 in Hangzhou)were distributed to Yichang and Hangzhou shantytowns(demolition of new and in situ transformation)to compare the resident satisfaction of Yichang and Hangzhou by an orderly Logit regression model through the SPSS 20.0.And finally to find out the key factors which influence the satisfaction of residents in shantytowns,the factors include house type,property service,public security,communal facilities and others.This paper summarizes the problems which was found in field research and puts forward some suggestions.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the most important part of the transformation in the shantytowns is the transformation process,and the least important part is the housing condition.Secondly,when we analyze the existing housing problems and the improvement,we find that residents generally consider the transformation process needs to strengthen,while the issue of fairness is also the main issue of the transformation of shantytowns.Thirdly,the six elements which constitute the satisfaction have a great impact on comprehensive satisfaction.The fourth is that the improvement of the residents' satisfaction in the shantytowns of Hangzhou and Yichang are affected by the three aspects of property management service attitude,improvement of public facilities and living conditions.Overall,the results of this study can reflect the existence of Hangzhou and Yichang shantytowns problems in the process to a certain extent,and it can provide experience and decision-making basis for the future to better promote the shantytowns.
