| Industry is the source of power for China's economic development.However,the extensive development model of high energy consumption,high emission,and high pollution in the industry has caused China's environmental problems to become increasingly serious.Energy conservation and improvement of industrial energy efficiency are increasingly valued by people.Considering that improving industrial energy efficiency is a necessary means for China's industrial energy-saving and emission reduction.Therefore,quantitative analysis and comparison of the sources of China's industrial energy efficiency and changes have important theoretical and practical significance for promoting industrial structure optimization,building a resource-saving society,and achieving healthy economic development.In order to explore the industry's total factor energy efficiency under industry heterogeneity,this paper selects panel data of China's 36 industrial sectors from 2002 to 2015,according to the industry's own characteristics in terms of resources,funds,and labor organizations.This 36 industries will be divided into resource-intensive,labor-intensive,and capital-intensive industries according to the factor density.This paper uses the DEA model of super-efficiency and the Malmquist index model to empirically analyze the industry heterogeneity of industry-wide factor energy efficiency in three major industries and their sub-sectors from 2002 to 2015;and construct a panel data Tobit model to study industry average size,industry concentration,and the influence of consumption structure,openness to the outside world,and property rights structure on the total factor energy efficiency of industry under the conditions of industry heterogeneity.The study found that the energy efficiency of all factors in China's industrial industry maintained a slowly rising trend,and there were significant differences in the total factor energy efficiency of different factor-intensive industries.From low to high efficiency values are resource-intensive,capital-intensive,and labor-intensive industries.Different sectors have different growth rates of total factor energy efficiency.There is industry heterogeneity in the influence of industry average size,industry concentration,energy consumption structure,openness to the outside world,and property rights structure on total factor energy efficiency.According to empirical results,there are significant industry differences in theenergy efficiency of China's industrial total factor,and the problems encountered by each industry are different.The reasons for the formation of industry differences are not the same.Therefore,this article believes that in the long-term work of improving the energy efficiency of industrial total factors,we should fully consider the situation of different industries and try to formulate detailed energy policies as far as possible,and do not engage in “one size fits all”.While controlling the total energy consumption,we will actively adjust the energy consumption structure,property rights structure,corporate organizational structure,foreign trade structure,improve the market competition mechanism,rationally improve the scale efficiency,and take targeted measures to improve the energy efficiency of China's industrial total factor,and realize China's economic and healthy economic development. |
